  2. Cottonwood Treatment Center • Cottonwood Treatment Center (CTC) is a licensed 86 bed, secure Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility located in the center of Salt Lake Valley. We provide specialized residential programming with 24-hour care for our residents. The program’s philosophy is to treat every resident as a unique individual, deserving a high quality of care and treatment in a safe, secure environment. • Our goal is to provide residents opportunities to develop the required skills and abilities to safely return to home or a less restrictive community based placement. To accomplish this goal, clinical staff incorporates the resident’s parents, families and/or other responsible parties into the treatment process and the program staff encourages residents to complete initial levels of their treatment plan.

  3. 3 Specialty Population Types • Low Functioning – IQ Down to 50 – Ages 12 to 17 • Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder • Developmentally Delayed • General Psychiatric – Ages 12 to 17 • Bi-Polar • Depression • Mood Disorder • Borderline Personality • PTSD • Conduct Disorder • Substance Abuse • Oppositional Defiant Disorder • Young Adults – Ages 18 to 21 • Low Functioning • General Psychiatric

Treatment Services for Population: Low Functioning – IQ Down to 50 •  Smaller units, regular routines, simple rules. • Cues – verbal, visual, Star Charts, overcoming memory deficit • Nuero Feedback Therapy • Auditory Training • Speech Therapy • Relaxation Therapy • Level systems – using praise and rewards for small successes, residents never move back on their levels • Family Therapy • Dialectical Behavior Therapy • Sand-Tray Therapy • Art & Music Therapy • Ansell Casey Life Skills program • Group Therapy (anger management, self harm, grief and loss, coping skills, trauma, healthy sexuality, boundaries, problem solving, substance abuse (based on 12 Step Model)

Treatment Services for Population: Who have aged out of adolescent treatment program • Vocational Assessment, Job Interview Skills, Independent Life skills • Ansell Casey Life Skills program • On campus vocational training (culinary arts, health occupations and building trades) • Completion of High School Credits or GED • On-line college courses – Brigham Young University

Medical Services • 24 Hour Nursing Staff • Medical History and Complete Physical within 7 days • Dietician who Plans Healthy, Nutritious, Fun meals • Dental and Vision Care Provided with Follow-up as Recommended • Medication Review every 30 days – Prior authorization of the Guardian is obtained before changes are made
