  3. Why is she a Saint? • She is a saint because she is the Mother of Jesus. • She said amen to God without any doubt. • She said yes to God’s will and not hers. • Those are the reasons why she is a saint.

  4. Birth facts • Saint Mary was born in Nazareth in Galilee. • She was the daughter of Saint Anne and Saint Joachim.

  5. Patronages • Saint Mary is the patron saint of many things, people and places. • I will name just a few. • She is the patroness of blood donors, sewing workers, virgins, nuns and the Archdiocese of Manila.

  6. Feast Day • Saint Mary has several feast days. • The Purification of Mary (February 2) • Annunciation (March 25) • Visitation (May 31) • Nativity of Mary (September 8) • Immaculate Conception (December 8) • Our Lady of Guadalupe (December 12)

  7. Birth and Death • Nobody knows when Saint Mary was born, but it is celebrated on September 8. • Saint Mary never died, she was one of the three lucky people whose soul and body was taken up into heaven.

  8. Early Life • Saint is Mary is usually called Mary but her birth name was Miriam. • The bible says that Saint Anne and Joachim are her parents. • During her betrothal, the angel, Gabriel told her she will be the mother of the coming Messiah.

  9. The Purification • On February 1st, Mary brought Jesus to the temple to finish her purification. • That is the last step after childbirth, before you are purified. • Also, the redemption of the firstborn took place.

  11. Interesting Facts • Saint Mary was betrothed to Joseph when she was 14. Joseph was twice her age! • She is shown as three different people in the Bible; Miriam, Esther and Eve. • She became pregnant with Jesus when she was 14! • Nobody actually knows what Saint Mary looks like, but is said that she looks the closest to Jesus.
