The National Bridge Inventory Coding Guide update meeting, held on September 5-6, 2007, in Portland, Maine, focused on reviewing over 2000 comments on the October 2006 version. The FHWA team is actively updating the document and preparing responses while scaling back proposed changes that are critical for federal bridge programs and safety. Key changes include the removal of certain materials/design items and revising condition rating formats. Additionally, a plan of action is in place for further evaluations and final document presentation to AASHTO T-18.
