Concept Mapping / Mind Mapping • Concept maps are graphical tools for organizing and representing knowledge. • Flexible Tech Workspace • Concepts, usually enclosed in circles or boxes of some type • Linear, Branching, Circular • Words on the line, referred to as linking words or linking phrases, specify the relationship between two concepts • Teachers and students can use this program as a tool to summarize their learning on topics within a unit. • Informal Assessment for teachers • Students should explain & defend their arrangement • Visual Literacy Skill

Two Ways to Create • File – New Cmap • Anywhere on the canvas – “Double Click” • Keep clicking as many ideas • Use arrows above boxes to add propositions to map • Take from the overall concept and drag to an open area on the canvas • Linking box will appear and then can be filled in • Both approaches can be used to like a proposition to another concept
