  2. What are bubble’s? • A bubble is a spherical mass of gas surrounded by a liquid or solid.

  5. White light is separated into colors as it reflects from the two surfaces of a thin film. Where the two reflections interfere constructively, they produce a band of color. Where they cancel each other, that color is subtracted from the spectrum.

  7. Chemical makeup & processes • The bubble has a thin sheet of water sandwiched between two layers of soap molecules. • Hydrophilic • Hydrophobic • To make a bubble: • 10 cups of water • 1 cup dish soap • Glycerin (Glycerin make’s bubble’s last longer

  8. Hydrophilic- Having an affinity for water, absorbing or dissolving in water. • Hydrophobic- Tending not to combine of dissolving in water.

  9. Materials needed • Liquid dishwashing soap • Glycerin ( from drug store) • Gallon jug • Dishpan or flat plan (like a big cake pan)

  11. Procedure • Add 2/3 cup of soap to a gallon of water. And the soap last so you don’t get a jug full of suds. • Add one tablespoon of glycerin, which will help your bubbles last longer. (ask at a drug store). • IMPORTANT: • Don’t use any lotion- type soaps. Soap for dishwashing machine wont work.
