About Your Teacher • 1998 BS from California University of PA • Certified: Elementary Education, Mid-level math and science • Worked outside of education for 8 years • 5 years of teaching experience • 12 years coaching experience (soccer) • Currently boys varsity soccer coach @ Somerset • One son, Tanner Blake • Hobbies: Running, hunting, NASCAR

Daily Schedule 8:00-8:12 Homeroom/Breakfast 8:13-8:51 Specials 8:54-9:49 Reading (Mrs. Lappi) 9:51-10:46 Math (Mrs. Denner) 10:46-11:08 Writing (Mon. & Tues.), Joplin (Weds. & Thurs.), Intervention/Homework (Fri) 11:10-11:40 Lunch 11:40-11:45 Prepare for afternoon classes 11:45-12:40 Social Studies (Mr. O) 12:42-12:57 Recess 1:00-1:35 English (Mon. through Thurs.) Joplin Reading (Fri.) 1:37-2:32 Science/Spelling (Mr. Wassilchalk) 2:34-2:55 Intervention/Homework/Band 2:55-3:00 Dismissal

  5. Rules 1. Raise hand to talk 2. No gum, food, drink (except parties) 3. Follow directions 4. Come to class prepared 5. Listen when others are talking 6. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself 7. Work quietly, and do not disturb others 8. Show respect for school and personal property 9. Work and play in a safe manner

  6. Procedures -Morning (Mail, Activity, Excuses, Lockers, Forms to take home) -Breakfast (Cafetorium deposits) -Hallway -Lunch -Recess -Dismissal

  7. Recess • Fresh Air When Possible • Please Dress Appropriately • Limit Toys Please • No toys that look like weapons permitted • Game boys and other electronics not permitted

  8. Jobs -Line leader -Mail monitor -Radio -Office runner -Board cleaner and erasers -Paper passer -Homework

  9. Homework • Some will be graded • Completed neatly • Use pencils to complete (no pens, crayons, markers unless told otherwise • Due the next day unless told otherwise

  10. Grading • Computerized Report Cards • Grading Scale: A Excellent 90%-100% B Good 80%-90% C Average 70%-80% D Poor 60%-70% E Failing below60% • Honor Roll – All A’s and B’s

  11. Emergency • If something happens to Mr. Wassilchalk • Someone go to Mrs. Denner, Mr. O’Connor, or Mrs. Lappi • Someone call Mrs. Edwards in the elementary office • Pick-up phone and dial 238
