  5. CHEQUE (Continued) DON’Ts • Always keep your cheque book secure • Do not sign on blank cheques and hand them over to anyone claiming to be from the bank or any other organization. Always fill in the date, the name of the receiver and the amount before signing the cheque • Do not write/sign/mark /pin/staple/paste/fold on the MICR band

  7. FAKE CURRENCY • According to RBI guidelines, if a fake note is detected by a teller when a customer deposits money, the bank advises him to file an FIR. • All banks have to file an FIR and the central bank if they stumble upon fake notes at any of the centralized currency chests Notes passed through a machine and sorted into 3 chambers CENTRALISED CHEST CHAMBER 1 – Fresh Notes CHAMBER 2 – Used, Re-issuable Notes CHAMBER 3 – Soiled, Discarded Notes Fake notes handpicked & handed over to RBI

  10. ATM / DEBIT CARD (Continued) • Ensure that while keying the PIN, the keypad is covered from the top. This is to prevent any capture of the PIN number using a camera • After completing your transaction, secure your card and cash immediately. 12. ATM / DEBIT CARD (Continued) • Look for suspicious attachments. Criminals often capture information through ATM skimming – using devices that steal magnetic strip information • At a glance, the skimmer looks just like a regular ATM slot, but it’s an attachment that captures ATM card numbers. To spot one, look out for an attachment that slightly protrudes from the machine and may not be parallel with the inherent grooves. Sometimes, the equipment will even cut off the printed labels on the ATM. The skimmer will not obtain PIN numbers • However, to get that, fraudsters place hidden cameras facing the ATM screen. There‘s also the helpful bystander (the criminal) who may be standing by to help you by saying “the machine has had problems” and offers to help

CREDIT CARD • If you lose your credit card, please report the loss immediately via PhoneBanking and Block/Hotlist the card on the website • When you dispose of a card at the time of renewal/upgrade, please make sure to cut it diagonally before disposal • Keep your card in a safe place. It is more valuable than cash • Please do not hand over the card to anyone, even if he/she claims to represent the bank • Please ensure the card is swiped in your presence • Please be wary of promotional scams. Identity thieves may use phony offers to get you to give them your personal information

(card verification value) on the back of the card is blurred or erased
