Causative agent: • Gonorrhea is caused by the bacteria Neisseria gonorrhoeae. • The infection is • transmitted from one person to another through vaginal, oral, or anal sex. • Common among younger people, ages 15-30, who have multiple sex partners. • A mother may transmit gonorrhea to her newborn during childbirth.
