  2. The conflict between China and Taiwan over independence, started from a long time ago. During this conflict, the leader of Taiwan was Chen Shui-bian, he supported Taiwan independence, Taiwan’s government severed the connection with China’s government, and the mainly cross-strait relations policy was against each other, people in Mainland China and Taiwan don’t connect with each other. Since Ma ying-jeou became the new leader of Taiwan, people in Taiwan can go to Mainland China travel, study, engage in trade, and work. The relationship between Mainland China and Taiwan became much better than before.
