  6. Tosave water there are threepossiblesolutions A better exploitation of this resource A wider and better distribution Trying to avoid water waste by Cutting down its consumption Using distilled sea water Reducing pollution that reaches ground water

  7. In Italy for their personal needs people use on average 270 litres of water a day (without considering the use related to agriculture) as follows: Gardening Baths/showers Laundry Cars Kitchen Personal hygiene

  8. THEN WE DID A SURVEY ON THE USE OF WATER, SUBMITTING A TEST TO A SAMPLE OF 55 FAMILIES: WE WANTED TO KNOW WHICH WAS OUR BEHAVIOUR TO SAVE THIS RESOURCE Howmanyshowers do your family have per week? How long isyourshower? Howis the showertap in yourshower? Howmanybaths do your family usuallyhave per week? Do youswitch off water whilebrushingyourteeth? Howmanytoiletflushes do your family do per day? Whatkindofflushbuttondoesyourtoilethave? Howmanytimes per week do your family use the washingmachine? Whatenergyclassisyourwashingmachine? Howmanytimes per week do you wash dishes in your family? How do youusually wash the dishes?

  9. How many showers do your family have every week? 57% of the sample have a shower from 2 to 10 times per week But above all, considering that every 5 minutes when the shower is on, 60 litres of water are consumed, 94% of the sample consume over 120 litres of water for every shower.

  10. Type of shower tap Perhaps it could be useful to boost the use of flow-reducers

  11. The average of baths a family have in a week 72% of the sample have about 5 baths in a week. Considering that to have a bath we use on average 100 litres of water, in total we use about 500 liters of water per week. The use of water in basin is 4 times bigger than the use of water to have shower .

  12. Behavior in brushing teeth The behavior of our families was extremely correct for water-saving

  13. TOILET FLUSH PER DAY Type of toilet flush 62% of people adopt new water-saving systems to reduce the consumption of water that would be around 100-200 litres per day

  14. How many washes per day? WASHING MACHINE ENERGY SAVING CLASS or higher ++ or lower We have to keep in mind that each washing uses from 70 to 120 litres of water, so it is important to wash a full load everytime. From 1 to 3 From 3 to 6 From 6 onwards

  15. How many times a week do you wash dishes? HOW DO YOU WASH YOUR DISHES? Byhand under running water From 0 to 7 From 7 to 14 Byhand, filling a basin It is important to know that a dishwasher uses from 25 to 40 liters each washing and from an open tap about 12 litres of water go out per minute.
