  1. The Gospel According to Abraham Matthew 8:56 (And Jesus said), “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.”

  2. How did Abraham understand the Gospel? Galatians 3:8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, “In you all the nations shall be blessed.” What is the promised blessed life?

  3. Blessed life? Bless: Ancient Hebrew Word~Barak Genesis 12:1-3 Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country....I will make you a great nation; I will bless youand make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.I will bless those who bless you…And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” To bless means to make holy, prosperous to give honor to grant happiness, health, prosperity or peace.

Deuteronomy 28:1-13 • These blessings will come on you and accompany you… • You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country. • The fruit of your womb and your crops will be blessed. your basket and your kitchen will be blessed. • You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out. • Your enemies will come at you from one direction but flee • Blessing on your barns and on what you decide to do. • Open heavens, the storehouse of his bounty. • You will lend to many nations but will not. • You will be the head, not the tail…

  5. The Blessing articulated by Moses Numbers 6:23-27 “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, ‘This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them: “The Lord bless you and keep you;TheLord make His face shine upon you,And be gracious to you;May theLordwatch over you,And give you peace.”’ “So they shall put My name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them.”

What is the Greek Gospel? • Greek (platonic) philosophies; “the material world is evil” 1 Timothy 4:3-8 “They forbid people to marry and to eat certain foods which God created …Everything God made is good, and nothing should be refused … By telling these things, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus. Training your body helps you in some ways, but serving God helps you in every way by bringing you blessings in this life and in the future life, too. Asceticism: Self denial of the material world which has been deemed evil or unimportant, taking austerity, or poverty vows, and “beating the flesh” in order to attain a higher ideal, spiritual good, or entry to heaven.

What is the Roman or Latin Gospel? • Pagan philosophies; “live without restraint” 2 Timothy 3:1-5 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God… Licentious: sexuallyunrestrained, lascivious, libertine, lewd, unrestrained by civil laws or general morality, lawless, immoral, inappropriate, disregard of rules.
