Sharing Our Faith with those of other faiths… • 7 Billion people in the world… • Largest three countries in the world… • China: 1.3 billion people (<19%) • India: 1 billion people (<15%) • United States: 300 million people (<5%) • Worldwide, there are only 10% of the people who are true believers of Jesus…(700 million people) • In the United States, less than 15% of the population are true believers of Jesus…(45 million people)

Sharing Our Faith with those of other faiths… • We need to know what we believe…how can we share what we do not know? • George Barna says less than 10% of Americans are actually “Evangelical…” • Definition: • Must be born again • Faith Important in our lives • Personal responsibility to share faith • Believe Satan exists

Sharing Our Faith with those of other faiths… • Definition: (continued) • Eternal salvation is possible only through grace not works • Jesus lived a sinless life and was born of a virgin • The Bible is inerrant from cover to cover • God is all knowing, all powerful, perfect deity who created universe and still rules it today

Sharing Our Faith with those of other faiths… • Common mistakes … • Harsh • No love in our presentations, only spiritual “notches” • We make Christianity unattractive by being legalistic with a set of rules…(our goal is not to make “them” like us necessarily) • Blending of other religions due to zeal for “conversions”

Sharing Our Faith with those of other faiths… • Common mistakes … • Little or no prayer beforehand • Little/no reliance on the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8) • We use church words such as saved, lost, walk the aisle, etc. most people do not understand. • We do not know what we believe, or we have not been redeemed ourselves! • Complicate the simple truth of the gospel!

  16. Sharing Our Faith with those of other faiths… Some examples of being harsh…these methods only distracts us from the REAL Message! What is that message? “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

Sharing Our Faith with those of other faiths… When witnessing and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, we are going to be attacked spiritually… “And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ who is the image of God.” 2 Corinthians 4:3-4

  20. Sharing Our Faith with those of other faiths… When witnessing to people, why are we, as Christians, surprised when “they” do not act with the same worldview as us?

  21. Sharing Our Faith with those of other faiths… Remember, the Bible says the gospel is offensive to those who are perishing… We have one thing to share with the lost and dying world…US!… Our testimony of what God did for us and what He is doing in us today… Do you have a testimony today?
