Identifying international research and researchers relevant to your work (e.g. Danish and Dutch work on force amalgamation) Infrastructures that support collaborative bids for Research Council and EU funding (e.g. COST and the FP7 security stream) REF-able impact narratives – strong practitioner engagement within some of these networks

  3. European Police research Institutes Collaboration (EPIC) Current members Dutch Police Academy Norwegian Police University College Centre for Police Research, Uppsala University, Sweden University College Ghent, Belgium Police College of Finland Universities’ Police Science Institute, Wales SIPR Key features Strong links between academy and practitioners, research and training KTE Working Group: mapping existing practice Exchanges (academic and practitioner) Infrastructure for impact

  4. European Society of Criminology Policing Working Group established in 2008 Raising the profile of policing research Facilitating networking of international scholars Coordinating panel sessions for effective dissemination Acting as a driver for international publications Multidisciplinary

  5. European Police College (CEPOL) Agency of the EU Network of senior officers and Police Colleges around Europe (secretariat based at Bramshill, UK) Focus is on police networking, cooperation, exchanges and training to enhance professional practice Does not fund research but does try to act as a repository of theoretical and practical research on policing, through e-library resources and training packages etc.
