  3. BEING MISSIONAL starts with recognizing that GOD IS ON MISSION

  4. The INCARNATION is a MISSIONAL activity

  5. Missio Dei: TO SEE HIS KINGDOM COME ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN

  6. Acts 9:19–20 Saul spent several days with the disciples in Damascus. 20At once he began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God.

  7. Acts 13:22-23 22After removing Saul, he (i.e. God) made David their king. He testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’ 23“From this man’s (i.e. David’s) descendants God has brought to Israel the Savior Jesus, as he promised.

  11. BING MISSIONAL means participating with God in whatever God is doing in your world IN YOUR GENERATION

  12. 1 Corinthians 10:31 & Colossians 3:17 “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God . . . and whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him”

  13. YOUR MISSION STARTS WHERE YOU ARE – not where you think you should be 1 Corinthians 7:17 Each one should retain the place in life that the Lord assigned to him and to which God has called him.

  17. “Generally the kind of work God calls you to is work: (a) That you need to do, AND (b) That the world needs to have done. If you really get a kick out of your work, you’re presumably met requirement (a). But if your work is writing cigarette ads, the chances are you’ve missed requirement (b).

  18. (a) That you need to do, AND (b) That the world needs to have done. On the other hand, if your work is being a doctor in a leper colony, you have probably met requirement (b). But if you’re bored and depressed by it, the chances are you haven’t met requirement (a), and you probably aren’t helping your patients much either.

  19. “The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet. What am I deeply distressed about in my world? What could I do to address that issue?
