What has happened since19th June, 2014? • All international chambers with MOUs have been communicated with a desire to renew and re activate relationships. • Launch of new website & Mobile application for IMC. • New Economist has been interviewed and appointed • Additional resources for marketing is in place • Staff at all level have been met with the objective of better alignment. • Visited the “Vision Document – December – 2012” 3

  6. Why this THEME? Growth withGovernance • “Bad Governance” has taken a beating on the business environment both in public and private commercial activities. • This has hampered economic growth and is negative publicity for India. • “Bad Governance” is throwing a challenge to India , to Indian values and its capabilities. • We at IMC, would like to be a crusader against this acknowledged evil. • This theme will give the Business community and IMC a moral high ground while raising issues with the Government. 6

  8. Agenda - Going forward Voice of industry The Chamber will continue to provide a voice and influence policy making through all possible channels and means available. Involvement of new members and youth The Chamber will encourage fresh ideas and energy by attracting youth. Visibility of chamber The Chamber’s visibility and activities needs to go beyond Mumbai. 8

  9. Agenda - Going forward Positioning & Perception of chamber The Chamber should be made a Premier State Chamber with the ultimate goal of making it National and then (International). Income & expenses The Chamber needs to Double its Top line both in its Incomes & Expenses with balanced ratios. Increase membership The Chamber need to increase corporate membership both in quantity and quality with their active participation. 9

  10. Agenda - Going forward Engage members Create a unique delivery mechanism for all members including members of SME and Affiliated Associations on reasonable “paid service basis”. ADR Centre Optimise and Operationalize ADR asap. Research & Publications The Chamber should perceive to be a Knowledge Centre with in-house resources which can be self sustainable. 10

  11. How will the objectives be achieved? Voice of industry The Chamber will continue to provide a voice and influence policy making through all possible channels and means available. Can be achieved by • The current strength and goodwill of the chamber is a great Asset and Blessing. • Will capitalise on professional strength i.e. Legal , Tax , Banking , Real estate & Infrastructure and Insurance & specialists in Governance and many new opportunities. • Organising events that would facilitate two way interactions with the Government. We will also accept partnerships and compliment the government in achieving its agenda. 11

  12. How will the objectives be achieved? Involvement of new members and youth The chamber will encourage fresh ideas and re-energize experts by attracting new faces and youth. Can be achieved by • We have invited new energy in our expert committees • Students & youth will be encouraged to be a part of various committees and will attend meetings and events in the ‘Student’s Gallery’, which will be an audience to the knowledge shared during the meeting. • Students who regularly attend these meetings, will be given a chance to speak on the dais in the events aligned to the committees they select. • Letters have been sent to various colleges inviting active participation of youth. 12

Visibility of chamber Can be achieved by • Engagement of Media house , & personalities in our programs , also monitoring our PR agency . • Take up burning issues and get them articulated for circulation.President , Vice President , Committees and Administration to work together. 13

  14. How will the objectives be achieved? IMC Positioning & Perception of chamber The chamber should be made a Premier State Chamber with the ultimate goal of making it National and then (International). Can be achieved by • Events to be held at various cities outside Mumbai, Independently and in partnerships with other institutions and state governments • “ChanakyaAward for Governance” is one such proposed event, in partnership with MIT which will be conducted in various states. 14

  15. How will the objectives be achieved? Income & expenses The Chamber needs to aggressively increase its Top line both in its Incomes & Expenses with balanced ratios. Can be achieved by • A new scheme for Rs. 15 lacs and 25 lacs have been launched for corporates. Details 15

  16. How will the objectives be achieved? Increase membership The chamber need to increase corporate membership both in quantity and quality with their active participation. Can be achieved by • Marketing the new scheme that has been introduced to create corporate members and enhance partnerships through sponsorship • Advertisement and Brand promotion needs to be undertaken • Expert Committee Chairmen , Co-Chairmen and Managing Committee members will be urged for bringing new members from their respective industries. 16

  17. How will the objectives be achieved? Engage members Create a unique delivery mechanism for all members including members of SME and Affiliated Associations on reasonable “paid service basis”. Can be achieved by • In addition to the help from the expert committees ,We propose to seek guidance from –, A retired IAS officer , Retired IT commissioner , Retired Banker , Retired Service tax commissioner, Legal person , An economist (appointed) whose services the members could use for basic information and guidance. • Structure events in a manner such that there is a “take home value” for various classes of members. 17

  18. How will the objectivesbe achieved? ADR centre Optimise and Operationalize ADR Can be achieved by • Promotion of ADR at all events held by the Chamber • The operationalization of the ADR Centre will be completed soon • A Committee has been set up to discuss the letting out of the premises and maintenance of ADR Centre. • Effective marketing strategy will be in place 18

  19. How will the objectives be achieved? Research & development The Chamber should perceive to be a Knowledge Centre with in-house resources which can be self sustainable. Can be achieved by • A Research paper will have to be ideally launched at major event which is addressed to the policy makers. • Our team of Economists in addition and independent of ERTF will release research papers on on-going and emerging issues. • The ERTF may conduct research in addition to above on identified and agreed topics . 19

Events 2014-15 • All events will have the following features : • Revolve all events around the theme of the year 2014 – 2015 "Growth With Governance” • Cross selling and interdependence of Committees • Promotion of ADR Centre • Quality of events to be in focus rather than Quantity of events. • Whenever it is a joint event with other organizations, IMC logo and branding should be in a commanding position. 42

Events 2014-15 • Every Chairperson will have ownership of their respective committee subject to: • All activities are in accordance with the Constitution Of India. • They will have acceptable business standard practise and all Transactions will have ethical best practices. • Will not hurt any individual , groups, Business House or sentiments to any language and religion. • Numbered “Opening of the event” & “Closing of event” to include objective and accounts reconciliation for plan and performance. • All activities and events that were initiated and organised in the previous years will be encouraged this year. 43

  43. India Calling • This is a famous on going and popular event done every year. • Open to the concept of India Calling if – • IMC– Indian delegation is appropriately represented • It should meet the enthusiasm of the Host Country • It should be Logistically and Financially viable 44

Proposed initiatives – 2014 - 15 • Financial Mela– To capitalise strength of IMC and the proximity to the financial industry in Mumbai and invite National and International participants . • Introduction of “Chanakya” Awards for Governance , Navudyog National (Awards for First generation entrepreneurs), BhartiyaChhatraSansad,Democracy awareness programme – In association with MIT pune . The nature of these events will be governance awards in collaboration with the local state government. • First event lined up in pune to engage the business committee “Rights of an Assessee during search and raids”. • Media Awards – To engage Business media with the chamber by recognising , celebrating and rewarding best media personalities. 46
