  2. Nearly 13 million Americans suffer from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a term that includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis. Asthma is a common inflammatory disease of the lungs. Nearly 242 million people worldwide suffer from asthma. COPD and asthma involve shortness of breath and difficulty in breathing. Asthma also involves the production of excess mucus that blocks the airways in the lungs. It is believed that asthma is often an allergic reaction. The causes include smoking and ingestion and absorption of toxins from the air, food, water, beverages, body products, cleaning products, drugs and vaccines and dust.

  3. The number one holistic remedy for asthma and COPD is to stop smoking. The smoke from cigarettes contains a lot of toxins (i.e., chemicals and heavy metals) that go right into the lung's cells and the cells of the bronchial tubes. The holistic remedies for asthma include stinging nettles, a natural antihistamine along with turmeric, curcumin, ginger and tart cherry juice for their anti-inflammatory properties. Stinging nettles is good for allergies in general because it is a natural antihistamine. It will help reduce the allergic reaction that triggers asthma. The other natural products and supplements will reduce inflammation, which is a problem with asthma. Other anti-inflammation supplements to take include bromelain, fish oil, krill oil, flaxseed oil and hemp oil.

  4. For both astma and COPD, eat an organic vegan diet (fresh whole vegetables, fruit, nuts, seeds and whole grains) and avoid dairy because dairy causes excessive mucus production). Eat a lot of dark green leafy vegetables such as spinach, kale and arugula. Drink diatomaceous earth and water earth an apple cider vinegar to de-toxify the cells. For both asthma and COPD take NAC SSKI (potassium iodide) supplements. They help boost the glutathione levels in the lung tissue and stop oxidative stress in the respiratory tract. Another important anti-oxidant to take would include high doses of vitamin C, green tea/green tea extract and Co-Q 10/Ubiquinol.

  5. Cordyceps mushroom, gingko biloba, comfrey and olive leaf extract are natural supplements that help with COPD. Oxygen/ozone therapy is helpful. Drink a lot of pure water. It is filled with oxygen. Use an ozone machine to put more oxygen molecule in your water. Do deep breathing exercises and exercise daily to help open the bronchial tubes. To open up air passages and clear up mucus do the following: put eucalyptus, peppermint and menthol essential oil in a pot of boiling water. Put a towel over your head and breathe in the steam from the water through your nose. You can also use tea tree oil, clove, oregano and frankincense essential oil. Put them in a diffuser and breathe them in. They also help to relieve breathing difficulties.
