Language and Literacy Levels across the Australian Curriculum: EALDStudents To be used for assessing EALD student work to: • determine student language learning need and identify a support category for allocation of EALD funding • monitor EALD student progress • inform language and literacy teaching and learning programs. o be used for assinform language and literacy

Language and Literacy Levels across the Australian Curriculum: EALDStudents The broader intention is for: • informing whole school processes to improve student writing and oral language • programming and planning • monitoring language learning progression of any students enabled by relevant changes to EDSAS

Language and Literacy Levels across the Australian Curriculum: EALDStudents • Language and Literacy Levels isposted on the EALD Program website • www.decd.sa.gov.au/literacy/pages/esl/scope/ • Online support materials (e.g. Moderated Evidence, Recording and Tracking Resource and professional learning modules) can be accessed by teachers at any time • Face to face professional learning including train the trainer sessions are delivered by the EALD Program

How leaders can support the implementation of the levels • Include targets about Levels progress in Site Literacy Plan • Provide release for teachers to be trained in assigning Levels • Participate in such professional learning • Provide release for teachers to assign Levels and to participate in internal moderation • Use EDSAS Levels History Report to monitor student progress • Use EALD funding to provide intervention for EALD students based upon their level of need as indicated by their Levels
