Introduction to AYNA • A thriving economy relies on highly skilled professionals, entrepreneurs and leaders. • To meet these needs, Australasia Youth Networking Association (AYNA) will create opportunities to inspire & develop individuals through networking & mentoring • AYNA is a platform for students and young professionals to INTERACT, INTEGRATE and IMPROVE
Objectives • To develop students and recent graduates and assist them in building social and professional networks • To advocate for the importance of cultural diversity and integration among young citizen and non-citizen members within the Australian community • To facilitate inter-cultural dialogue among communities • To have fun!
How can we do this? • Guest speakers seminars (from corporate world and local communities) • Networking events • Study tours (e.g. Shanghai EXPO tour) • Social/cultural events (e.g. BBQs, Mahjong tournament, Calligraphy, Inter-generational Debating) • Business competitions (e.g. YAA, SIFE) • Conferences
History • Also known as “World Fairs” • The first Expo was held in The Crystal Palace in London, 1851 • Later held in many countries - Paris, Sydney, New York, Osaka...and Shanghai (2010)
What is EXPO? • Expo is a global, non-commercial exposition, originally aimed at exhibiting the accomplishments of human beings in artwork and traditional craftwork. • It has become the world wide summit for presenting scientific developments and technology as well as industrial technology • Expo is hosted by the government of a country, with participation by other countries and international organisations • It is held every five years, lasting for six months
Shanghai EXPO 2010 • Time: May 1st-October 31st, 2010 • Theme: Better City, Better Life 城市让生活更美好 • Capacity: 500,000 people daily • Site: The site is located in the waterfront area along the two sides of Huangpu River, covering an area of 5.28 square km.

Registration & Fees • Due to limitations, we will only accept up to 26 applicants • A deposit of AUD$250 is required by 15th May to secure your place • The remainder will be paid 2 weeks before departure • Meet at Sydney Talent office on the 15th
