  5. Writing Prompt: Heroes are people we admire and want to be like. Write an essay identifying your hero and why he/she is a hero to you.

  6. Adventurous, smart and fun are just three words that describe my one-of-a-kind cousin, Evelyn. Her mind is like an encyclopedia, always open and ready to help you. Being around her is great because she can always give you awesome advice; she always says, “Have fun, learn, and live.”Although I have many cousins, I admire Evelyn because of her intelligence and her many responsibilities.

  7. Kind, supportive, and hard-working are three words that describe my hero, my mother. This year I was elected president of the school and was chosen to be in 9th grade algebra. My mother cautioned me not to bite off more than I could chew. She supports me in whatever I want to accomplish. Even though I may not always appreciate my mom, I view my mother in a heroic way because she motivates and supports me in things that help me be successful in life.

  10. Inspired, thought-provoking, and inquisitive are the words I would use to describe my opinion of author, Jodi Picoult.According to Ginia Bellafante, her literary messages could be described as “cautionary and subverting. As much as her novels underscore the hazards of parental shortcomings.” Even though Jodi Picoult’s writing is more often preferred by adult women because her stories center around idyllic parents and possible teen traumas, her books are a great literary study for high school classrooms because many of her novels show the a variety of literary elements and they focus on current societal issues.

In fact, ______________ ________________________________.(e1) Also,_________________________ _____________.
