  1. Edinburgh Review 2006

  2. BG Touring is a theatre company established by students from Bishop Grosseteste University College Lincoln. It has a professional structure, from Managing Director to stage hands and is managed on an annual basis, bidding for funding streams as available. The company was pleased to have made a second visit to the Festival Fringe, following success at Augustine’s in 2005. As well as the production you see today, the company has groups of street theatre performers and a samba band whose outdoor performances enhance the company’s work and engage with local communities. Workshops using poi, parachute and drumming, are also enjoyed by young people both in Lincoln and Edinburgh. WE HOPE YOU ENJOY OUR REVIEW!!!

  3. Street Theatre Created and performed by Drama in the Community Students - DINCs. First performed on Lincoln’s High Street, as part of an assessed module.

  4. Street Theatre amazes audiences where ever it is performed ... The acts we had as part of BG Touring were …

  11. The show The show performed was The Voyage of the Dawntreader. There were over 70 children’s shows at the Fringe that were performed as well as ours this year. It is the fifth story in the Chronicles of Narnia. It was written by C.S. Lewis.

  12. The venue for the show … Our Venue had a seating capacity of 110.

  13. Edinburgh has been a fantastic opportunity to experience performing in a professional capacity as well as participating in the planning and organisation of events. It has been incredibly hard work but an amazing and invaluable experience undertaken in the world of professional theatre. April Lydon Drama in the Community

  14. We attracted average audiences of 80 compared to the Fringe average of just 6 per show.

  15. It has been the opportunity of a lifetime, which I thoroughly enjoyed and encourage next years group to take full advantage of. Samantha Boyall Drama in the Community This trip has been the opportunity of a lifetime. I am truly grateful for the experience and it has inspired me to pursue a career that will enable me to work with the fringe. Naomi Sankey Education Studies & Drama

  16. Edinburgh will probably be the most memorable experience, which I will take away from the course. Being a part of the festival and performing on the royal mile was exhilarating and rewarding. Michelle Hynan Drama in the Community

  17. Edinburgh has been the most exhausting week of my life, but it was the most exciting as well. It was definitely the experience of a lifetime. Gemma Crooks Education Studies & Drama

  18. Exhausting but Excellent!!!

  19. Samba Band

  20. Can you hear the drum? Samba is lively and very rhythmical. Where ever the samba was played – great audiences were attracted. “Harold Bishop playing the drum” “I am a – live and filled with em-o-tion” “I like dogs. Pah (um) pah (um) pah (um) pah pah” “Let them all eat stew” “Coffee and lots of tea”

  21. Samba in Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh.

  22. Fun, Fun, Fun for everyone… Edinburgh was great, but was hard work – so we chose the best ways to relax – as well as seeing many pieces of theatre. The experience as a whole was fantabulous! Seeing the two groups work together to continue the name of BG touring, to take a show and street theatre up to the fringe festival has been a memorable few months. It was exhausting, exciting and most of all, the best thing I have ever done! Laura Mould Drama in the Community

  23. Loved every minute of it. Even climbing up Arthur’s Seat. There is so much to see and do. Just wish we could have stayed a bit longer. An amazing experience. Thanks!!! Sian James Education Studies & Drama A pleasant walk up Arthur’s Seat … to help end the trip on a high.

  24. It was good. I thoroughly enjoyed the Edinburgh trip, as I loved having the opportunity to perform a professional show in a venue at the fringe. I enjoyed being given the responsibility of publicising the show ourselves, as it made our show feel like our work. Overall, I had a wicked time and shall definitely be visiting the fringe again as a result. Nick Cox Education Studies & Drama Edinburgh has been such a phenomenal trip and having the opportunity to be a part of this experience has been fantastic. There are so many great opportunities to do and see so much from a vast array of different cultures, genres and styles. An exstatic experience. Ben Newstead Education Studies & Drama
