  2. Presenting: Pastor Steve Williams Grace Community Church of Seal Beach “Grace has been my church home since 1989. I am deeply committed to its future well-being and growth. We are at a turning point in the life of our church, and I want to take the lead in shaping the direction we will take in the coming years.”

  3. How we got here • We recognized a need • We prepared to search outside • God led us to search inside

  4. How we got here • We heard many say, “We want Steve” • We saw the obvious response to his leadership • Our prayer life began to change our direction • By early summer we came to know how much God was honoring Pastor Steve’s ministry at Grace Expressing Core Values Attendance and Giving UP January 2012 December 2012 PST search outside PST search inside

The Right Fit • Through a rigorous discovery process of written questions and multiple interviews . . . • We came to believe that Pastor Steve is the “right fit” • Fulfills all of the biblical, educational and experience requirements • Understands the unique purpose and culture of our Church • Pastor Steve’s leadership is inclusive • Together with Pastor Bob, provides the right combination of leadership, experience and skills

A Renewed Vision • There is much more to Pastor Steve than many of us realized • A vision for our church’s growth • A vision for alignment of ministries and staff • A vision for growing disciples • Therefore . . . The Board of Elders enthusiastically recommends Pastor Steve to the Congregation as Senior Pastor

  7. What’s Next? • 11/18 - Town Hall Meeting • 11/25 through 12/5 – Steve meets with Sunday Morning and Midweek Life Groups • Bob preaches for him Sunday 11/25 • 12/2 - Steve formally preaches as the Pastoral Candidate • 12/9 - Steve formally preaches a 2nd time as the Pastoral Candidate • 12/9 - Congregational vote at the annual Business Meeting

  8. Mark these dates: • 11/26 – Sharing and Q&A meeting with Steve and Trish, 10:00-11:30 am • 12/2 – Sharing and Q&A meeting with Steve and Trish, 6:30-8:00 pm • 12/9 - Congregational vote at the annual Business Meeting, 4:00 pm
