Pronunciación • When a Spanish word has two vowels side by side, various pronunciation issues come into play: syllable division, diphthongs, and hiatus. • In terms of syllable division, Spanish vowels are divided into two categories: strong vowels (A, E, O) and weak vowels (I, U). To pronounce Spanish correctly, you need to understand strong and weak vowels and how they affect pronunciation.

  10. Pronunciación • Time out- pronunciation activity: • You will receive a piece of paper with a Spanish word on it. • 1. Tell the class what type of pronunciation rules the word follows (two weak vowels, strong + weak, etc). • 2. Pronounce the word for us. • 3. GIVE THE PAPER BACK TO THE TEACHER.
