Why do we have Sexual Health Service in the Community? • Sex is the topic that dare not speak it’s name • Culturally we are conditioned to hide sex • Societies Barriers include: • Poverty • Class • Location • Ethnicity • Education
Pitstop+ Clinic 10yrs old Barriers it sought to remove: Access through location Access through opening times Atmosphere Continued to develop: Rapid HIV testing Urine testing for CT & GC Self taken rectal swab for CT & GC
Community Sexual Health Models • Peer-led Rapid HIV testing bus • based in General Gordon Square Woolwich targeting African communities • Testing in the Home • Nurse-led Rapid HIV only Clinic • Held in Peckham Pulse a busy sports centre, gym and pool in Peckham • HIV, Sexual Health and Contraception • GSH Clinics • Outreach arm of the Chlamydia Screening Programme • Targeting 15-24yr olds • HIV embedded in Holistic clinic - Diabetes, Cholesterol, Hypertension, BMI, CT & GC Overall Acceptance levels: Community Survey • When asked if they were more likely to attend a clinic in a community place for the above test than attend:
