  13. 8th National Monitoring Conference Where: Portland, Oregon When: April 30 – May 4, 2012 (ends mid-day on Friday) With Who: NationalRiver Rally, May 4 - 7, 2012 (begins Friday evening); River Network national meeting Overlap Day – (Ice Breaker Thurs evening and Friday May 4th USEPA Conference support: Alice Mayio is working on contract for organizing and producing conference program.

  14. 8th National Monitoring Conference Logistics: Update from Jeff Schloss • Jeff Schloss – going to Portland in Feb 18-23 • Contacted Portland Oregon Visitor Association RFP in • River Network is in Doubletree Hotel • Council will probably take 2 hotel blocks • Try to get comparable hotel rates to River Network (Gov’t) • Possibly 8 x 10’ for booths instaed of 10x10 if not in Convention Center. • Program Logistics • Council Friday morning program • River Network –take over Friday afternoon program

Timeline for Conference Planning Activities 2011 • Jan 2011: Start work on "Save the Date" announcement • February 3, 2011: Subcommittees begin work! • Issue by March 1, 2011: Issue "Save the Date" announcement • March/April – Develop subthemes for Call for Abstracts • May 15, 2011: Issue Call for Abstracts, Online abstract system open • Sept 23, 2011: Abstract and workshop/panel/etc., Submittal Deadline (Pixie Hamilton sorted into categories Sept 26th) • Oct – Dec 2011: Evaluation and Selection of Abstracts for oral and poster presentations, workshops/panels, etc.,

Timeline for Conference Planning Activities 2012 • Jan 15, 2012: Notification of Speakers • Jan 2012: Rollout registration website • Jan 2012: Finalize conference agenda including details regarding plenary speakers, field trips, short courses, workshops, offsite reception, etc., • Mar 2012: Work with presenters/moderators/vendors and finalize conference structure/agenda • April 30 – May 4, 2012: Hold NWQMC ConferenceAfter conference: Drink lots of wine!
