  4. Who and Why • Former MLIS student • Public library manager for seven years • School librarian for two years • Doctoral student in Learning Sciences, College of Education • Excited about life!

  5. Introduce Yourselves In two minutes or less: • State your name • Area of interest • Describe a time when you had an information literacy “experience” (i.e. learned how to research, failed to do something properly, understood a info lit concept…)

The 411 • http://courses.washington.edu/mlis568/ • 9 class meetings (Working online for June 1st) • Sarah in China: May 13th through June 4th • Guest speakers • Small group and large group discussions • 3 individual assignments, 2 group assignments, plus participation requirements • Different from 560 • That was on teaching the learners, this is on the content we teach (though one feeds to the other) • Opportunity to study more closely, go deeper, and follow your interests • Get what you want out of it!
