What Exactly is the Knowledge Economy? “He who receives an idea from me receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine receives light without darkening me.” - Thomas Jefferson • Technology and knowledge are now the key factors of production. What of Land, labour, capital and entrepreneurship? • Enhancing human capital is critical for GDP growth. Empowering others would mean you’re already empowered yourself… • KnowledgeHouseAfrica’s increased influence will bring increasing demands within an increasingly complex economy • Meeting the need of others would require additional efforts – twice the work others will do • The Knowledge Economy comes with a self-serving pool of resources, accessible through the opportunities that the Internet provides

Playing a key role in the KE demands web presence – e.g. a website or a blog spot (www.blogger.com, www.20six.co.uk) • Connect with ongoing national/regional/global efforts hat rhyme with your mission. For example, AISI Youth list, eNigeria Yahoo Group + NigeriaTomorrow, ICT4D News and the WSIS Process • Be a proactive and creative pioneer. Some say “why?” and I choose to ask, “why not?” • Add energy to group efforts, and whatever you do, always make time for IMPACT!
