  2. Recovery • Recovery noun • 1. The act of getting back or regaining. 2. A return to normal health. • 3. A return to former prosperity or status. • If we fail to Reckon ourselves dead to sin, or fail to Resist Temptation, God has provided us with a grace provision to return to “normal Spiritual health”. SLB 2006

  3. Recovery • Confession: • 1 Jn 1:8-9 If we say we have no Sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. • 1 Cor 11:31 - If we judge ourselves rightly, we shall not be judged. SLB 2006

  4. Recovery • Confession: • Dan 9:4 And I prayed to the Lord my God and confessed and said, “Alas, O Lord, the Great and Awesome God, who keeps His covenant and lovingkindness for those who love Him and keep His commandments, we have sinned, committed iniquity, acted wickedly, and rebelled, even turning aside from your commandments and ordinances.   5. Righteousness • Righteousness noun1.The quality or state of being morally sound. • 2.The moral quality of a course of action. SLB 2006

  6. Righteousness • Psalm 24:5 (NASB95) • 5 He shall receive a blessing from the Lord And righteousness from the God of his salvation. • Ephesians 4:24 (NASB95) • 24 and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth. SLB 2006

  7. Renovation • the act of improving by renewing and restoring • Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this Cosmic System, but be transformed by the renovation of your thinking; that you may demonstrate the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God. SLB 2006

Renovation • Ephesians 4:22-24 (AMP) • 22 Strip yourselves of your former nature [put off and discard your old unrenewed self] which characterized your previous manner of life and becomes corrupt through lusts and desires that spring from delusion; • 23 And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude], • 24 And put on the new nature (the regenerate self) created in God’s image, [Godlike] in true righteousness and holiness. Renovation • Colossians 1:21 (AMP) • 21 And although you at one time were estranged and alienated from Him and were of hostile attitude of mind in your wicked activities, • Titus 3:5 (AMP) • 5 He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but because of His own pity and mercy, by [the] cleansing [bath] of the new birth (regeneration) and renewing of the Holy Spirit, SLB 2006

 • Repetition of an action so as to develop or maintain one's skill. SLB 2006

Rehearsal • Ephesians 5:10 (AMP) • 10 And try to learn [in your experience] what is pleasing to the Lord [let your lives be constant proofs of what is most acceptable to Him]. • Ephesians 5:17 (AMP) • 17 Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is. SLB 2006

  12. Rehearsal • Psalm 1:2 (AMP) • 2 But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night. • Psalm 119:15 (AMP) • 15 I will meditate on Your precepts and have respect to Your ways [the paths of life marked out by Your law]. Rehearsal • Psalm 119:23 (AMP) • 23 Princes also sat and talked against me, but Your servant meditated on Your statutes. • Psalm 119:48 (AMP) • 48 My hands also will I lift up [in fervent supplication] to Your commandments, which I love, and I will meditate on Your statutes. • Psalm 119:78 (AMP) • 78 Let the proud be put to shame, for they dealt perversely with me without a cause; but I will meditate on Your precepts.   14. Rehearsal • Psalm 119:97 (AMP) • 97 Oh, how love I Your law! It is my meditation all the day. • Psalm 119:148 (AMP) • 148 My eyes anticipate the night watches and I am awake before the cry of the watchman, that I may meditate on Your word. SLB 2006

Rehearsal • Philippians 4:8 (AMP) • 8 For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].   16. Recognition • Coming to understand something clearly and distinctly.
 • 1 Cor 11:19 for there must be factions among you in order that those who are genuine among you may be recognized. • Tit 3:9  And foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about law, stand away from—for they are unprofitable and vain. • It is the Holy Spirit who must teach us by means of the Word, “comparing spiritual things with spiritual” (1 Cor. 2:13). Recognition • Psalm 119:99 (AMP) • 99 I have better understanding and deeper insight than all my teachers, because Your testimonies are my meditation. • Psalm 49:3 (AMP) • 3 My mouth shall speak wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be understanding. • Psalm 77:6 (AMP) • 6 I call to remembrance my song in the night; with my heart I meditate and my spirit searches diligently: SLB 2006

  18. Revelation • revelation has 3 meanings: • the speech act of making something evident
 • an enlightening or astonishing disclosure • communication of knowledge to man by a divine or supernatural agency SLB 2006

  19. Revelation • Ps 40:10 I have not concealed Your righteousness within my heart; I have proclaimed Your faithfulness and Your salvation. I have not hid away Your steadfast love and Your truth from the great assembly. SLB 2006

  20. Revelation • I Jn 4:12 No man has at any time [yet] seen God. But if we love one another, God abides (lives and remains) in us and His love (that love which is essentially His) is brought to completion (to its full maturity, runs its full course, is perfected) in us! SLB 2006

  21. Revelation • 2 Cor 4:10 always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. • 2 Cor 4:11 For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. SLB 2006

  22. Godliness • The proper Spiritual Life will result in the Revelation of Christ in our lives, a condition called Godliness. • The New Testament Greek word for godliness is EUSEBIA • It is not found in the Gospels and begins to appear only in the later epistles • But because it was a religious word it had a rich usage in classical Greek: SLB 2006
