  2. BEE FINANCING • BEE Financing is one of the Programs that is necessary to implement KZN BEE Strategy. • This is one of the core elements of the KZN BEE Strategy

  3. BEE FINANCING OBJECTIVES • To coordinate all available funding facilities • To fund empowerment transactions and structure financial arrangements • To coordinate BEE Financing by private sector banks and public sector development financial institutions like NEF, IDC and DBSA.

  4. BEE FINANCING • BEE Financing program is to be called Provincial Empowerment Fund (PEF) • BEE Financing will play a major role of strengthening the BEE instrument of enterprise development. • Access to finance comes out as one of the most urgently felt needs.

  5. PROVINCIAL EMPOWERMENT FUND [PEF] • PEF will be mandated to; • Focus on start-up and venture capital financing • Financing and Administering BBBEE equity deals • Focusing on financing Black Small Businesses that have been awarded contracts but lack funds to execute them

  6. BEE FINANCING • To set up a well structured Provincial Finance team made up of people from, • Private Equity financiers • Funding institutions • Private Banks • Commercial Banks • Government and Public Sector funding arrangements

  7. Finance Information Dissermination • DED will develop and implement information dissemination program to look at • Creating awareness and outreach campaigns of available Government incentives and financial support programs • Ensuring that Black Businesses uses these resources to its fullest.
