Join Mrs. Tara Stepanian's 7th grade OCR reading class as we embark on an exciting year of exploration through literature. With a background in Special Education and a passion for reading, our goals include reading six independent novels and four class novels by June. Expect engaging presentations, vocabulary building, and diverse text selections. We emphasize the importance of preparation, open-mindedness, and respect in our learning environment. Parents are encouraged to collaborate and model good reading habits. Let's make this a fantastic year!

Homework • Given 7 days a week • Read at least 5 pages a night • Should not take hours (20-30 min) • Will periodically have skills reinforcement worksheet • Checked for completion • Accepted late, but with significant point reduction • Posted on the website • www.longhill.org

Grading • The following percentages will be used to calculate student’s marking period grades. • 35% Tests • 25% Projects • 20% Quizzes • 10% Homework • 10% Classwork
Incentives • Homework Passes • Bathroom Passes • Prizes We will have a weekly goal to work toward to earn incentives. The goal will vary based on the needs of the class.
