Background • Troubleshooting is a key skill • Efficient identification & rectification of aircraft faults • Timely return to service intervals • Population of experienced technicians is declining • Legacy training programs focus on theory rather than in-depth practical experience on live systems due to: • Logistics & liabilities in using operational aircraft • Lack of awareness of synthetic technologies and capabilities • Speed of change with regard to regulations • Lack of standardized metrics

The Way Ahead • Work closely with Authorities to adapt regulations to take advantage of the technologies available and adapt training methodologies • Continue development of synthetic environments that that promote skills and proficiency based training • Develop solutions that are aligned with a total lifecycle approach • Improve Awareness in the community of these new solutions and methodologies
