  1. Cracking the Myths: Let’s Find Some of the Common Myths about Eating Eggs and the Truth behind Them An egg is a healthy and highly nutritious food that can be consumed every day to have a balanced diet. But few baseless opinions may cloud your judgments about consuming egg regularly. No, we don’t want you to consider our words, but we are going to go through a few popular myths and will see if they are true or not. Myth No. 1 Eggs are high in cholesterol and may increase the risk of heart disease Truth Several studies have proved that in most cases consuming eggs regularly doesn’t alter the blood cholesterol level. Health authorities of several countries including Singapore have stated that consumption of eggs every day is not associated with any kind of coronary heart disease. Besides, if that would have been true, egg selling in Singaporewouldn’t have been so much profitable. Eggs have less amount of saturated fat, which makes it a healthy diet every day. Myth No.2 You should just eat the white area, leaving the yolk out

  2. Truth First of all, you should know that egg yolk and white contains different vitamin and minerals. Egg white is not just a great source of protein, but riboflavin and selenium. But it may surprise you that a large part of the nutrients, as much as half amount of protein is found in the yolk. Myth No.3 Eggs are just too fat Truth It is better to limit the consumption of saturated fat as it affects our blood cholesterol level. An egg has only 1.7 grams of saturated fat, which is considered to be safe and healthy. Myth No.4 Pregnant women should avoid egg as it may cause allergy to the newborn

  3. Truth This is one of the most common claims without any scientifically backed proofs. Yes, you won’t find any research or any studies that will support such a claim about egg consumption. On the contrary, an egg is filled with vital nutrients that can help the mother to stay strong and healthy while carrying the child. Myth No.5 Infant under the age of 10-12 months should be kept away from eggs as it may cause allergy Truth There’s no logical evidence that supports such claims that one cannot consume eggs until the age of 10-12 months for the sake of growing allergy. Several dieticians advise the parents to include egg yolk to your kid’s diet after 8 months of age. Though there aren’t any specific guidelines about egg white, most of the studies suggest that kids should have them after 1 year of age. Myth No.6 Organic and free-range eggs are much healthier than standard eggs Truth You must have heard that many people are directing their egg distributors to provide organic and free-range eggs as they are more nutritional compared to the standard eggs. But there are no proofs from any reputable sources that can back the claim. There aren’t any nutritional differences between organic, free-range, and standard eggs, but it completely depends on the diet of the hen.

  4. Myth No.7 Diabetic patients should not consume eggs Truth There is no truth behind this claim both as eggs can be considered a part of a balanced diet and not just diabetic patients, but kids can consume eggs every day.
