  1. Introduction • We are pleased to announce the use of Interwise a VOIP conferencing software • PurpleTrain.com together with Interwise is bringing to you this exciting new product and its a pleasure to have all of you on board. • The following will get you all started with the pre-requisites.

  2. Minimum Requirements • Windows 98, NT 4 (SP4), 2000 Professional or XP • 􀂃 233 MHz processor • 􀂃 64 MB RAM • 5 MB of disk space for the Participant application installation • 50 MB of disk space set aside for Event Materials. • 􀂃 Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later versions • 􀂃 Netscape 4.X • 􀂃 Monitor 800 x 600 resolution with 16 bit color • Internet Connection with at least 28kbps. With > 56 Kbps for video • Microphone, Speakers or headsets (Web Cam optional)

  3. How you will be notified Please refer to “chat schedule” inside your Online Classroom Click on the "Enter Event" Link Interwise application will launch automatically (ensure your browsers "Active X“ settings are enabled)

  4. Setup To get started please install the client from : http://61.14.75.250/kurast/interwise/Participant_v6.0.6_prompts_for_path.exe After which you can check your installation via the following URL : http://www.interwise.com/live/ECPConnect.asp

  5. Let’s get ready ! Is your headset plugged in correctly and ready to use or are you using your telephone? Have you download the event materials? To record this session locally click on the “Record” tab. Files are saved under C:\ Interwise \ Student \ Record Please note that all training sessions will be entered via the link given in the chat schedule inside the virtual classroom.

  6. The Participant Application • The Participant application enables participants at remote locations to connect by means of their personal computers to a live, interactive session in a virtual meeting or classroom and view recorded sessions as well. • The application will automatically launch via the browser. Pls ensure that your Active X settings are enabled.

  7. Selecting your audio device Save your choice!

  8. Changing audio devices Click to change your audio device at any point during the event

  9. Recording a Live Event • Record > Start (or Resume) Recording Recording files are saved under : C:\ Interwise \ Student \ Record

  10. Interaction Tools • Use the Raised Hand button to request permission to speak (used in iclass & iSeminar) • Send a Note to one or all • Step out will automatically mute your microphone • Use Enlarge to toggle to full screen view • Microphone Mute - automatic voice detection • Annotation Tools Palette will be available during open floor discussions

  11. Emoticons • Use emoticons to express your feelings Click the arrow Select the emoticon

  13. Audio Status Indicators • Displayed on the audio icons, beneath the Status Panel • A red icon signifies that there is a problem with your speakers and/or microphone

  14. Sound Setup: Option 1 Indicates that sound is being transmitted Controls the sound heard Controls the loudness of sound transmitted

  15. Sound Setup: Option 2 • Audio/Video > Audio Setup wizard… accesses the wizard • Adjusts Speaker Volume and Microphone Level • Settings are saved for future use • Wizard can be accessed while connected to a Live event

  16. Event Material Status Indicator • Displays the status of the Event Materials • Icon will display one of four modes: • Downloading • Preparing • Ready To Use • Error • Click on the icon to view more details

Downloading Preparing Ready To Use Error Material Status Indicator Materials are currently being downloaded Materials are currently in the process of being downloaded and extracted to your computer Materials were successfully downloaded and extracted to your computer An error occurred during the download or extraction process

  18. Event Logs • Is located at the chat schedule similar to entering an event • Choose the desired event link and click on the “enter event” • Then click on the “view recording link” • The log will download and “auto play”

  19. Event Logs Playback Press the pause button And slide to the desired time and play Or Just click on the materials

  20. Tips (1) • Reduce noise levels in your environment Find a quiet place – close doors, turn off radio • One speaker at a time , click raise-your-hand emoticons if wish to speak • Get comfortable with silence. Allow some time for your audience to digest what you say. • Do not breathe into your mic. • Mute yourself if you do not wish to speak. • Pace yourself while talking, talk at a clear and moderate mode

  21. Tips (2) • Try not to surf the web or engage in other chat messengers during the session to avoid disruption of voice and video. • Test equipment and connectivity before every session • Moderator controls the flow through the agenda. • Appoint someone other than moderator to take meeting minutes. Whoever is taking minutes should mute themselves because the typing sound might be heard by others. • If you are recording the session inform everyone and get their consent at the start of the session. • Make sure everyone agrees the session is over and then everyone exit
