  2. The big quiz • Approx. 20 multiple choice questions • Bring Scantron • Maybe 1-2 short answer questions

Multiple Choice will cover Chapters 1, 3, 5, 2, 6, 8, 9, 10, 7 • That is, Chaps. 1-3, 5-10 (not Chap. 4) • Only the pages specified in the syllabus • Also • “Institutions and Global Business” • Cultural elements underlying capitalism (see Chapter 3 slides – no need to re-read Wikipedia) • Chapter 5 slide on how to identify a nation’s comparative advantage

  4. Sounds like a lot, but… • Test will cover only the topics on the study guide.

  5. But you will need to study • the slides on the web site, • the text, and • your notes to understand fully enough to answer the test questions.

  6. This test is closed-book • It requires very little math, but you can use a calculator • You may not use any device capable of communication • Non-native speakers may bring a standard foreign language-English paper dictionary • No electronic dictionaries • No specialized dictionaries

  7. Advice on how to study • If you haven’t downloaded slides for each chapter, do that soon • PowerPoint Reader is available free • Have slides, your notes, and text open all at once • All topics are mentioned on slides, but the slides themselves cannot provide full detail

  8. I assume you have highlighted key points in the chapters • Let the slides and your notes drive your studying • Keep asking whether you really understand the concepts summarized on the slides • Continually go back to the text and your notes to develop a deeper understanding

  9. Cases • You are notrequired to memorize any facts from the cases

  10. On tests, a question about a case will give you the facts you need • A multiple choice question will provide the basic data • You may use information from cases in your arguments in essay questions
