Floor Tile Damage From Chairs • Incorrect chair casters can damage floor tiles. • 9”x9” and 12”x12” floor tiles around the Lab commonly contain asbestos which adds costs to repairing damaged tiles. • When you purchase a new chair, or if you relocate your office, ensure you have the correct chair casters for your type of floor surface. • Soft casters are for hard floors (i.e., floor tiles). • Hard casters are for soft floors (i.e., carpeting). • Chair mats available from ebuy/Staples can help protect floor tiles. • Correct casters can be purchased via E-pro from “One Workplace” vendor. • Submit a Facilities Work Request to install them.
