Introduction • Name of animal: Sloth • The Sloth is a mammal. • Species: two toed Sloth’s genus is Choleopus, and three toedSloth’s is Bradypus • Physical features: Roundish heads, sad looking eyes, tiny eyes, and a stubby tail • Lifespan: Sloths are not endangered but are • close because their habitat is being cut down • Weight: About seventeen pounds for grown adults

  3. Climate • The part of the rainforest where the Sloth lives is usually very hot and humid.

  4. Prey to and Predator of The sloth is prey to birds of prey such as the hawk or the eagle. It does not have prey because it is an herbivore. It gets most of the water it needs from the plants it eats.

  5. Food • Sloths eat mainly leaves and they get most of the water they need from the plants they eat. They get their food from reaching into the branches and grabbing it.

  6. Behavioral • Sloths usually act very sluggish and slow, but if they are caught by a predator, they start biting and hissing, slashing with their claws, shrieking.

  7. Fun Facts • Ancient relatives to today’s Sloths, the Giant Ground Sloth, grew as big as an elephant! • It can take one slow- moving sloth up to one month to digest a single meal!
