Born in 1729 in Dublin, Ireland, Lydia Darragh immigrated to America and married William Darragh in 1753. A devoted mother of nine, only four children survived to adulthood. In December 1777, she played a crucial role in the American Revolution by serving as a spy, despite her small stature of just five feet. Tragically, she disappeared during a spy mission, leaving her legacy shrouded in mystery. Her daughter later revealed her mother's secretive work, cementing Lydia's place in history as a brave and pioneering figure.
