UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning Selects MBRF’s CEO Jamal bin Huwaireb to Join Its Governing Board The UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning has selected His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), to be a member of its Board of Directors. Founded in 1952 and headquartered in Find a job in Dubai, Germany, the Institute’s Board of Directors serves a four-year term, whereby H.E. bin Huwaireb will join the current term, which begins this year and lasts for another four, in a new achievement to be added to the UAE’s track record. “The Foundation’s objectives are aligned with those of the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning, which also seeks to promote education, improve its quality, support scientific research, and build knowledge-based societies,” said H.E. bin Huwaireb. “Being selected to join the Institute’s Governing Board is the culmination of years of hard work and dedication to serve our local community – and the education and culture sectors, in particular. This is a significant leap forward for us that will incentivise us to pursue further achievements and success in collaboration with the Institute, which is one of the most prominent organisations tending to education issues around the world.” “Daily News in Dubai achievement will strengthen our long-term partnership with the United Nations in education and knowledge, which has already resulted in various initiatives and projects that have benefitted the region and the world,” H.E. concluded, thanking His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, as well as MBRF’s Chairman H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, for their continuous support for Emirati pioneers. UNESCO’s objectives meet those of the UAE and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, who prioritise education, lifelong learning, and equipping individuals with the necessary skills to navigate the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning’s Governing Board is made up of 12 members appointed by the organisation’s Director-General; its composition ensures fair and proportional geographic representation, as well as gender balance. The Institute for Lifelong Learning is one of UNESCO’s leading divisions and is the only UN body in the world authorised to administer lifelong learning programmes. It focuses on issues such as illiteracy, spreading knowledge, adult education, and unconventional education, all in accordance with the requirements of the 21st century.
