  3. Gloria Dump • Gloria loves to eat peanut butter. • She can‘t read clearly because her eyes are bad. • She likes to plant.

  4. Otis • Otis loves to play and listen to music. • He loves to play his guitar for the animals. • He gave Opal a job.

  5. Conflicts • Amanda is sad about her brother who died. • Opal doesn't have a mom. • Stevie likes to be mean by making fun of Opal.

  6. Climax The worst thing that happened is that it started to rain. People were running into the house at Gloria's. After they saved the food from the rain, Opal noticed that Winn-Dixie was missing.

  7. Thoughts • I wish they had a better ending and told more about after the party. • Opal is missing a parent just like me. • Otis plays guitar just like me. • It rained at the party like at my birthday party. • What would happen if Opal’s mom came back?
