Pros • One of the benefits of students wearing uniforms is it reduces peer pressure (competition). • Uniforms can be worn to increase school pride. • Having a uniform policy enforced will gear focus more to learning. • Uniforms will help assist the administrative staff with the discipline program.

  3. Pros • Having a uniform requirements helps to create a more work –like atmosphere. • Uniforms will promote unity and equality amongst students. • The structure and requirement to wear uniforms will help prepare students for corporate work structure and discipline as well as uniforms or attire. • If students are wearing uniforms, it could curb any possible problems that could arise from gang situations that may stem from students wearing certain colors.

  4. Cons • Uniforms may restrict students from the ability to exercise their constitutional right of freedom of expression. • Wearing uniforms inhibits individuality. • Wearing uniforms doesn’t provide accommodations for religious beliefs and/or attire. • If students are all in the same uniform, teachers and/or administrators may have difficulty identifying a student who is misbehaving in a large setting.

  5. Cons • Parents/ guardians will have to increase time spent cleaning uniforms because they may not purchase a lot of uniform shirts, skirts, and or other garments. Therefore, they will have to wash the uniforms more frequently. • Student may resort to extreme alternatives in accessories because they feel as though they have no sense of personal identity or individuality. • Students who may have to have their clothes tailored may experience discomfort in the fit of the uniforms. • Uniforms are an extra expense for parents/guardians.
