  2. Titus 2:11-14 Zealous for good works • Literally, “azealot [Gk zēlōtēs] for good works” • Vine’s – “an uncompromising partisan” • a fervent proponent of any given person or • thing; one who does not concede position • when he believes he is right

Titus 2:11-14 Zealous for good works • Literally, “azealot [Gk zēlōtēs] for good works” • Vine’s – “an uncompromising partisan” • History – first applied to a strict sub-sect of the • Pharisees, they were radicalized by Judas • of Galilee, violently opposing foreign rule • over Jews [Acts 5:37; Mt 10:4; “Cananite”]

  18. Are YOU ZEALOUS for the GOOD works of God? • On a radio program: a “zealot” was mimicked • as being someone who could • quote scripture appropriately • Many Christians not in danger of being labeled • Are you more zealous for world than for God? Titus 2:11-14 Zealous for good works

  19. Are YOU ZEALOUS for the GOOD works of God? Why not let ZEAL for GOD move you to good works TODAY? • John 6:28-29 -- • “This is the work of God, • that you believe in Him whom He sent.” Titus 2:11-14 Zealous for good works
