  4. Factors and Multiples Okay, so summer ended last week… but I’m sure you guys remember SOMETHING about factors and multiples, right?

  5. Start your notes: On page 8 Fill in the blank: _______ x ______ = product _______ are numbers that we multiply to get a product Example: 3 and 4 are factors of 12 (3 x 4 = 12) Factor Factor Factors

  6. When asked to “name the factors of 12”, you should… List the WHOLE numbers that give you 12 when you multiply them

  7. What are the factors of 12? 1 x 12 2 x 6 3 x 4 The Factors are: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12

  8. How do we check to make sure we have them all? • Check that each factor is connected to another one! • Use a factor rainbow

  9. What are multiples? Multiples are the products of multiplying a number by a whole number When you skip count, is it by multiples or factors?

  11. Homework for tonight! • Finish the worksheet (up to #24). • Left column is Factors • Middle column is Multiples • List 3 -4 multiples of each number • Leave last column blank!
