  3. What is GEAR ‘N’ UP? This class is a non-traditional academic wrap around support elective, and its main focus is on: personal growth, life skills, daily academic goals, community leadership

  4. Monday • (1) Journal --How was my weekend? , What did I do? , What would I change, if anything about the weekend or the week? , What would I do the same?..... HOWis my day today doing, what do I need help with… (i.e. school, home life, friends, homework) {6-10 minutes} • (2) Talk about what we wrote (20-30 minutes). • (3) Planner check (5-10 minutes) [Students] talk about the day and what they have learned

  5. Tuesday • (1) Journal ---- [Student] Any thing I want to write about….ie. (school, life, family, friends) • (2) Homework --- work on home work or missing work

  6. Wednesday • (1) Journal (Current Event [news paper article/magazine • Video question and answer.

  7. Thursday • Counseling time. • What do I need to do to make this a better week?

  8. Friday • (1) Work on late work or missing work • Team building exercises / group games {25-30 minutes} • Computers (Jiji, fun brain, brain pop)

  9. Grade break down • Monday -Journal -10%---Class involvement 10% • Tuesday and Thursday -Journal -15%--Class involvement 10%-home done/miss work turned in 10% • Wednesday -Current Event-20%-Class involvement 10% • Friday • --Journal---10%----Class involvement 5%

  10. Contract • Student grades • Student behavior • Movie contract
