  1. The Finale The International Magic Tournament was a yearly event and it always brought in the best of the world’s magic warriors. This year was no different and each round saw a more explosive bout. The finals were upon the crowd and it was an even match planned ahead. Psyche Hollowtailand Yuji Hanazawa were the competitors who had bested all their foes up to this point and were now about to fight for the greatest prize for any magic warrior; the enchanted royal magic blade. It was rumoured to give wielder unlimited magic power and was sought after by all rising magic warriors. Psyche and Yuji both want the blade for themselves and they’ve fought off tough competition during the tournament so far. Now they face each other in the final round, neither wanting to lose this rare chance. It isn’t going to be easy and the winner all depends on YOU, the reader. You can choose either competitor to become and must defeat your opposition in battle. Victory of defeat lies in YOUR hands.

  2. Psyche Hollowtail • An 18 year old girl who was trained in the art of fire and wind spells by her father. She’s easily recognizable due to her long, willowing silver hair which matches the grey tones of her eyes. Due to her short height she’s nimble and swift, easily able to dodge an approaching projectile spell or avoid an oncoming weapon strike. Her own personal weapon of choice is a light rapier, useful for light but fast attacks against opponents. She’s one of the fan favourites from the very beginning as her light frame and agile movements were used against her much more powerful opponents. She has high mastery of fire and wind spells for her age although she is unable to use any other element. • She possesses a secret skill that she can only use in dangerous situations and it requires a lot of energy to use. She can teleport to anywhere within a small proximity to put herself out of danger’s way.

  3. Yuji Hanazawa • A 21 year old male who has an average mastery of each element although his strengths lay in his expertise of earth and water spells. Short black hair and piercing blue eyes make up the facial features of this tall, muscular warrior who balances power and technique to provide a tough opponent to all. Able to take punishment whilst dishing out slow but powerful strikes is Yuji’s speciality and can often overpower enemies when he gets into the swing of things. This combination has earned him the fan support to rival Psyche’s creating a fierce battle for the final. Yuji’s weapon of choice is a heavy battle-axe, used for power rather than speed • Like Psyche, Yuji has a special ability too. When on the brink of defeat his body unleashes a magical force-field which repels either the opponent or a spell which risks his life. So choose your fighter! PSYCHE YUJI

  4. Psyche glances out across the barren battlefield, surprised by the simplicity of the battlefield for the finale. There originally had been pillars standing around the circular arena but through countless bouts they’d been destroyed and were now lying broken around the arena. At the opposite end of the arena she can see her opponent approaching the specified starting point as she walks towards hers, grip on her rapier tightening. She was determined not to lose this fight. She’d already come so far and was eager to win. As her feet touch the starting platform she begins to wait impatiently for the buzzer to go to indicate the start of the fight. As it was she didn’t have to wait long as a few seconds later it went off loud and clearly. To her surprise though her opponent Yuji dropped into a much more defensive strategy. She knew she had to get the first strike down but was it worth getting too close already? Or should she play it defensively with her own magical skills? Risk getting close and launch a physical attack on Yuji? Keep her distance and launch a magical attack on Yuji?

  5. Psyche decides now is the perfect chance to get a head start in this battle so dashes forwards, rapier gripped tightly in her dominant hand as she closes the distance between herself and Yuji. Her rapier slashes forwards towards Yuji’s chest only to feel the slam of metal as he brings up his axe to block the blow. A smirk appears on his face as he pushes Psyche backwards and slams the end of his axe into her exposed gut. A cough of pain erupts from her throat as she staggers backwards but remains upright. She glances up quickly to see Yuji rushing towards her, axe raised high in what would surely be a powerful strike. She could either stand her ground and act defensively or she could use her nimble agility to dodge out of harm’s way and hopefully land a counter attack. Take a defensive stance and try to absorb the blow? Use her light frame to avoid the blow entirely in possibility of a counter attack?

  6. As Yuji approaches her at a hasty rate it’s all Psyche can do to bring her rapier up to block the blow as Yuji’s axe slams down through the air. It clashes against Psyche’s much lighter rapier and manages to push the thin blade down enough to slash into Psyche’s dominant shoulder. A sharp shriek signifies the pain felt as Yuji jumps back away from Psyche in preparation for a follow up attack. To Psyche’s surprise though it’s not a second physical strike but instead the ground around Yuji’s feet begins to tremble and sharp shards raise from the ground. She knows she can’t dodge so many projectiles but being struck by them all isn’t an option either. Glancing around she spots a shattered pillar, probably just big enough to hide behind. But is it close enough to get to without too much damage or should she fight magic against magic? Try and get to the broken pillar and hide from Yuji’s attack? Cast her own spell in the hope of effectively countering Yuji’s?

  7. With the view of dozens of razor sharp shards of earth in her vision, Psyche quickly decides that now isn’t the best time to try and launch an attack so dashes quickly for the nearest shelter she can find. Yuji’s eyes widen and he prematurely launches his attack before its full effectiveness is met. Splinters of sharp earth fly towards Psyche as she dashes nimbly for the collapsed pillar and in the nick of time dives behind it, watching as the shards fly overhead, narrowly missing her skin. A sigh of relief escapes her although she knows she has to strike back now before it’s too late. With a quick plan formulated she raises to her feet, jumps over the pillar and dashes towards Yuji who raises his axe in preparation. Does Psyche aim high, towards Yuji’s face, or low, towards his feet? Aim high towards Yuji’s face? Aim low towards Yuji’s feet?

  8. As Psyche dashes forwards with her rapier tightly gripped she has her sights set on Yuji’s facial area and with a quick jab she slices forwards towards it. The blade slices across Yuji’s cheek drawing a quick rush of blood which drips to the dirt ground as he jumps back quickly. Psyche decides to follow this up with a swift barrage of strikes, each drawing another trickle of blood whenever it connects. Her speed allows her to take control of the fight until Yuji stands his ground and slams his axe into her rapier, stopping her in her tracks. He brings his axe back again but as he slashes down Psyche has already jumped back out of his reach. His breath comes heavily now and Psyche can feel the energy rushing through her. Now she could either wait for Yuji’s next strike or she could try and injure him even more, possibly even finish the fight. Which option should she take? Wait cautiously for Yuji’s attack? Aim to cause more damage to Yuji?

  9. As Psyche watches her opponent carefully she can see that if she’d rushed forwards without thinking she’d have fallen into his trap. All around Yuji in a circular radius the ground had become soft and like quick sand; slowing her movements. Realising his plan had failed, Yuji grunts in anger and dashes towards Psyche after solidifying the ground once more, his axe swinging around towards her torso. Ducking quickly, Psyche narrowly avoids being painfully struck and lunges her own blade forwards, slashing into his thigh. Yuji staggers back in pain as his knee threatens to buckle beneath him. Psyche smirks triumphantly and darts towards him once more only to find herself flying back as a mysterious barrier protects Yuji. She lands a short distance away and looks up to see Yuji rushing towards her even with his injured leg. He’s angry and looking to finish it quickly. As the axe is moments from her eyes, her body reacts impulsively and teleports her to the other side of the arena, panting in exhaustion from having to use her special skill. Yuji is standing there looking confused at where she’d just been lying. Now would be a perfect time to finish the bout but with her body as exhausted as it was it could be just as risky. Should she aim to creep closer and aim to finish the battle or wait and see what Yuji’s next actions are? Aim to finish the fight before any more damage is taken? Stay where she is and wait and see what Yuji does?

  10. Psyche raises herself and grips her rapier tightly before darting swiftly towards Yuji’s unexpecting body. Despite her own body’s aches and pains she darts forwards, focused on only one aim; finishing this fight. With a quick whisper she spreads her free hand outwards, flames flickering as she forms a fireball and projects it without wasting time towards Yuji. He’s quick enough to avoid being blasted completely but it catches his arm and he drops his axe and staggers back, tripping to the floor. All the while Psyche closes the distance and without mercy her blade penetrates Yuji’s defenceless chest, killing him in that blow. As soon as the final beat of life leaves his body the crowd can be heard erupting into cheers as Psyche pulls her rapier from her opponent’s chest and collapses in exhaustion. She’d won and would now become renowned for being one of the most powerful magic warriors in this world. PSYCHE WINS NEXT

  11. As Yuji continues to stare at where his victim once lay, Psyche takes a hiding position behind a pile of rubble as she watches what Yuji is up to. His eyes sweep the arena and catch sight of the blood at the spot she teleported to. He staggers forwards towards that spot, his eyes still exploring the arena in hope of spotting Psyche’s hiding spot. This leaves Psyche in a predicament; does she carry on hiding and hope to finish him with a sneak attack or does she confront him head on? Stay hiding in the hope that she can land a surprise attack? Leap out from her hiding spot and confront him head on?

  12. Psyche watches from her hiding place as Yuji steps closer and closer to the spot she teleported to. However her eyes catch on too late that she’s left a trail of blood leading to her current position and Yuji is already on the offensive. Before she can get a grip on her rapier efficiently the axe has already carved into her chest, pouring fresh blood over the rubble she hid before. The axe quickly leaves her body but not before burying itself once again into her chest, this time piercing her heart, finishing the battle with that blow. The rapier drops down to the floor as her body slumps in lifeless defeat. The crowd take a second to realize what’s happened before cheering Yuji’s name. YUJI WINS NEXT

  13. Psyche’s eyes scan the battlefield for any sort of advantage point when she realizes a fatal error; a thin trail of blood leading to her hiding place. Luckily she notices that Yuji hadn’t become aware of it yet. Taking this as her chance she lunges out from the pile of rubble and slashes down at Yuji’s chest, spraying blood across the floor. A roar escapes Yuji as he slashes back, catching Psyche’s less dominant arm painfully but it’s not enough to put her off. A barrage of quick assaults rain down upon Yuji who is unable to block the majority of them and soon collapses in death as Psyche collapses to her knees panting. She’d done it. She’d fought off the toughest competitor yet and had succeeded in winning. The crowd were calling her name as she began to lose consciousness. PSYCHE WINS NEXT

  14. Psyche watches the crouched state of her opponent and decides now is the perfect time to try and finish what she started. She rushes towards her crouched opponent and it’s only when the mud starts to suction her to the ground. It’s only then that she realizes it’s a trap as Yuji stands to his full height and smirks. His grip on his axe tightens as he solidifies the ground once more, trapping Psyche where she stands. As he begins to approach her a burst of flame shoots from Psyche’s hand and flies towards Yuji who simply summons a barrier of water to extinguish the flame. Psyche grunts as Yuji stands before her now, swinging the axe around towards her immobile frame. Suddenly she vanishes to the other side of the arena breathing heavily as Yuji grunts. Unfortunately it’s not long before he turns around and spots her standing there and starts closing the distance quickly. What does Psyche do now? Pour most of her remaining energy into one hopeful final blast or stand her ground where she stood and hope to counter whatever Yuji has planned? Pour her energy into one final blast? Stand her ground in preparation?

  15. The forces of fire and wind begin to spiral around Psyche’s form, halting Yuji’s progress as he prepares himself for what could be approaching. The wind flares the flames high as the begin to form a serpentine shape encasing Psyche. With a forceful roar the ignited spiral of flame shoots speedily towards Yuji who quickly brings up his axe to lessen the damage. However it’s not the axe that deflects the blow but the mystical force field that had saved his life previously in his life. The flaming snake crashes against the ground and fades into ashes as Psyche collapses to her knees. Her final attack had failed and now Yuji rushed forwards and buried the axe into her slumped form, ending the fight instantly in that blow. The crowd cheers his form as he removes his weapon from his opponent’s body. YUJI WINS NEXT

  16. Psyche stands where she is, watching as Yuji approaches her with his weapon held high. Her rapier clashes against it as it slashes down towards her and using the lightness of her weapon as support she pushes back and swings around, her blade aimed directly at Yuji’s chest for a clean kill. However her blade never finds its target as Psyche is blown backwards along the battlefield’s ground due to Yuji’s special ability. He stands there panting afterwards though as Psyche staggers to her feet. Both warriors are on their last feet and Psyche takes this as her chance to finish Yuji off. Her body darts across the short distance separating the two fighters and ducks under Yuji’s wild swing and pierces his chest with her rapier, ending his life with that forwards motion. His body slumps against her, axe clattering to the ground as Psyche pushes him off her and raises her arms in victory. PSYCHE WINS NEXT

  17. As Psyche ducks to aim low, the blade of Yuji’s axe catches her exposed back drawing a spray of blood. At the same time her blade pierces his thigh causing his to stagger back allowing Psyche to land a flurry of blows upon his chest before she is repelled backwards by Yuji’s natural defence upon near defeat. She can feel the warm blood slide down her back as she staggers to her feet and looks up to see a torrent of muddy water approaching her quickly. A burst of wind blows it off course, splashing harmlessly onto the ground beside her but it had already served its purpose. The axe came down quickly and would have finished Psyche in that one blow if her special ability hadn’t teleported her to the other side of the arena. Glancing around she realises she is in the advantageous position of not being seen by Yuji. This leaves her with two options; rush towards him in the hope of finishing him quickly or hide and see what his next plan of action is. Rush towards him and try to finish the fight? Hide and watch Yuji’s next actions?

  18. As more and more shards of earth begin to hover around Yuji, Psyche makes her own preparations. To most onlookers the increase of wind could just be a natural occurrence but Psyche knew otherwise. As the shards of sharp dirt flew towards her a thick barrier of wind shielded her, sending the projectiles in numerous directions. One caught Yuji across the cheek causing him to grip his axe and lunge forwards at her as soon as her wind barrier vanished. Psyche was already prepared though, her own barrage of projectiles, flaming small orbs, were thrust towards Yuji. His axe deflected most of them but some scorched at his chest causing him to stagger forwards. Psyche smiled as her counter attack was successful but now she had to plan her next move. Yuji was already getting back to an offensive stance but how would she counter it? She could either use her height to get in below Yuji’s strike and aim for a successful strike or play evasively, tiring her opponent out. Stay on the offensive and try and land a low strike? Use her speed and try and tire her opponent out?

  19. As the axe slashed through the air, Psyche was already out of harm’s reach, taunting her opponent. This infuriated Yuji who dashes forwards, wildly flailing the axe around but no blow came close to landing on Psyche’s nimble frame. Psyche smirks as she can see the exhaustion settle on Yuji’s features and she takes this moment to make her strike. Her rapier darts through the air, arched downwards towards Yuji’s back but before it can land it’s propelled out of Psyche’s hand as she’s blasted backwards by Yuji’s defensive force field. Psyche landed painfully and glances around for her weapon. She could either forget the weapon and try and finish the match with magic or she could find her weapon so she’s on more equal ground with Yuji? Use magic to try and finish the battle? Seek out her weapon then focus on finishing the fight?

  20. Psyche knew she couldn’t let the opportunity she had leave so she ignored wherever her weapon had landed and summoned to her hands the power of fire. Flickering flames enveloped her hands, expanding greater and greater, forming two blazing red orbs within seconds. Yuji glances up momentarily before sinking his head, already knowing defeat was upon him. Psyche thrust the two orbs forwards, watching as they exploded into Yuji’s slumped body, incinerating him into a crisp. Psyche stood there watching her opponent vanish and she raises her arms in victory as the crowd chants her name. PSYCHE WINS NEXT

  21. Knowing she felt more comfortable wielding a weapon, Psyche starts exploring the rubble where her weapon flew off to. It’s not hard to spot in the rubble but as soon as she grips it she finds herself the other side of the arena, glancing across at Yuji who stands with his axe now buried deep in the rubble, struggling to get it out. Psyche knew she had to finish it now so uses the rest of her strength to propel her across the battlefield and bury her blade through Yuji’s back, ending the older male’s life. As she pulls her blade out and Yuji’s lifeless skeleton falls to the ground, the crowd erupt in cheers for her. PSYCHE WINS NEXT

  22. Psyche’s nimble frame allows her to jump back away from the strike but the blow catches the bottom of her thigh, drawing a slow trickle of blood down her leg. It wasn’t a major blow but it could hamper some actions. The pain knocks her off balance and she narrowly rolls out of the way of Yuji’s next blow, slamming his axe into the dirt beside her. She takes this opportunity as a chance to blast Yuji back with a quickly cast fireball to his chest, sending him and his weapon propelled with him. Staggering to her feet she realizes that Yuji is already preparing for his next attack; a barrage of sharp dirt missiles. She knows there is a broken pillar lying not too far from her but is unable to tell whether with her slightly injured leg she’d get there in time. The other opportunity is to try and counter his spell with her own. What should she do? Risk reaching the broken pillar for shelter? Plan her own magical counter attack?

  23. Despite the slight ache in her leg, Psyche decides to try and escape the flurry of earth shards and makes a dash for the broken pillar. Yuji quickly catches on and lets the shards fly forwards. A few scratch open her arm but nothing major as she crouches behind the pillar. The barrage finally ends and she quickly decides she can’t just play on the defensive if she was going to win. She’d have to fight back. She quickly raises to her feet and steps around the pillar, dashing towards Yuji as best she can. Her rapier is gripped tightly as Yuji raises his axe in preparation. Should Psyche aim high or low in this next brave strike? Aim high towards Yuji’s face? Aim low towards Yuji’s feet?

  24. Watching Yuji from across the battlefield, Psyche knew that he possessed much more physical strength than herself. So she wouldn’t just rush in before attempting to injure him from a distance. Flames began to lick at her arms and then spiralled towards Yuji who hadn’t been expecting it. Using wind to propel the flames faster they strike Yuji’s chest sending him backwards but not damaged much. He grunts as he rises to his feet and dashes for Psyche. She ducks beneath his first blow but has to roll out the way of his second as she stands her ground. She could either try and use her magic as a barrier to propel Yuji back or she could use her natural agility to try and avoid his attacks. Create a magical barrier to protect her? Use her speed and try and avoid her opponent?

  25. Spirals of fire begin to surround Psyche’s form as she stands there ready for Yuji’s onslaught. The flames burst brighter as his axe crashes towards her but doesn’t come into contact with her body. The flames lash out down his axe and scorch his arm but his grip merely tightens on his axe to keep hold. Thinking quickly Yuji steps back and the next minute Psyche finds herself soaked with water as Yuji uses his own magic against her. His axe slashes forwards as soon as the barrier is down and catches the younger woman’s upper arm as she tries to avoid it. She grumbles as she dashes back to give herself some distance. She could see that Yuji was planning something but wasn’t sure what. Should she dash forwards in hopes of catching him off guard or stay back, playing defensively? Wait cautiously for Yuji’s attack? Aim to cause more damage to Yuji?

  26. Yuji couldn’t help but smirk at the sight before him. Shattered pillars scattered the otherwise flat battlefield. He’d created some of that debris in his previous fights and he wondered whether his opponent knew that. She was just a young girl in appearance but judging her on her looks would get him killed. She was a skilled fighter despite her build and he’d have to give it his all to best her. He tightens his grip on the axe hanging by his side and as soon as the buzzer went off he watches as Psyche instantly starts closing the distance between them. A grunt leaves his throat as he wonders what to do. Should he summon the earth to come between them or await her strike, matching her blows with his more powerful ones? Use his earth magic to halt her progress? Await her blows and attempt to counter them?

  27. Deciding to save his strength for the latter part of the battle Yuji quickly summons up the power of earth and sends a powerful tremor towards Psyche. It catches the hasty girl unaware and she trips to the ground, raising her rapier for Yuji’s next blow, a heavy downwards slam of his axe. His might pushes the girl back towards the ground and eventually slices at her shoulder. A quick kick to his gut though sends him staggering backwards allowing Psyche to raise to her feet and start forming a fireball in her free hand. Now he was faced with a choice. Rush her, hoping to strike her whilst she was charging her spell or counter her spell with a defensive one of his own? Rush towards her aiming to stall her attack? Stay where he is and act defensively?

  28. Yuji decides to take the risk and charges forwards towards his opponent. His axe slashes through the air just as her spell finishes charging and launches into his chest. His axe swing goes wild but still catches her arm slightly although Yuji staggers backwards as his chest burns with the heat of the fireball. It’s all he can do to block Psyche’s slashing strike, clashing his weapon against her lighter rapier. He knows he could easily overpower her but he could also feign a weakening in the hope it allows him to launch a successful counter attack against her. Which option should he take? Use his strength to overpower her? Feign an opening then strike?

  29. Giving out a great roar, Yuji pushes back with all his might sending the lighter Psyche flying backwards and skidding across the ground. Without wasting a moment Yuji dashes forwards, a flurry of heavy, hard hitting blows raining down upon Psyche. She barely manages to block them with her rapier but when her strength wanes and the rapier is knocked out of her hands she looks down in defeat. Yuji was cautious but he didn’t want to miss this opening. Should he step back and strike her from afar or finish the match with one strong blow? Step back and use magic? Attempt to finish her whilst she’s defenceless?

  30. Having seen similar tactics before Yuji decides the safest option is for him to back away and he’s relieved he does so as seconds later a raging barrier of fire erupts around Psyche, empowered by the wind. He’s quick to cast his own spell, a torrential tide of water which washes over Psyche and knocks her even further along the ground. Blood runs down her arms as she staggers to her feet, looking slightly lost without her weapon. Yuji smirks as he realizes victory is almost his and he charges towards the disorientated girl with one intent; victory. Just as his axe is about to slice through her chest though she suddenly vanishes. Does he uses his other senses to seek her out or try and locate her visually? Focus on locating her through hearing? Focus on locating her through sight?

  31. Without panicking Yuji focuses his energy into tracking her movements. With such bad injuries her steps come heavily even in the large crowd and he can figure out she’s searching for her weapon. As her pace picks up he smirks, able to tell she was now rushing towards him. What he didn’t count on was just how quickly she could still move and the flash of pain across his back made him swing back wildly, slashing straight over Psyche’s head as she ducked, a mischievous glimmer in her eyes as her rapier thrusts forwards towards his chest. At the last second his self defensive force field propels her backwards, leaving Yuji alive but exhausted. He watches as Psyche staggers to her feet and realizes the final moments are coming. But does he rush to meet her or let her come to him? Await her approach? Rush towards her?

  32. Yuji knew the final blows would decide the victor. It was a close fight and if he was going to win he’d win it offensively. He dashes forwards, ignoring the searing pain in his back, and lunges forwards towards Psyche who swiftly sidesteps his first strike. His second strike clashes with her rapier and he begins to push her back. But just before she loses balance she steps backwards and the momentum causes Yuji to stagger forwards and become impaled upon Psyche’s rapier. With a quick shove he collapses to the floor as the crowd begin to chant Psyche’s name. PSYCHE WINS NEXT

  33. Yuji knew that both he and his opponent were on their last strengths and he wasn’t going to waste his dashing across to her. He was right to wait as moments later she was rushing towards him, rapier slashing towards his chest. He quickly blocks the attack and pushes her back, watching again and again as the same actions are repeated. The exhaustion soon becomes too much for Psyche and as she slashes forwards once more she finds Yuji’s axe embedded in her chest, ending her life in that strike. As she collapses to the floor Yuji raises his bloodied axe in celebration as the crowd cheers his name. YUJI WINS NEXT

  34. Quickly Yuji spins around to take in the entire arena. Magical wards stopped competitors teleporting outside the arena grounds so she had to be here somewhere; but where? His eyes scan the barren field before him and it’s only when Psyche raises from the rubble that he spots her. So she’d been searching for her weapon, Yuji deduces and grumbles. But there she was; surrounded by rubble as she steadies herself. He could either make use of the rubble lying there around Psyche’s feet or charge towards her, aiming to strike her physically. Rush her and strike her physically? Make use of the rubble?

  35. Before Psyche can react Yuji is already making his next movements. Using his affinity for the earth he begins to move the rubble in a circular motion around Psyche, effectively trapping her where she stands. As the spell continues more and more rubble is brought off the ground before it begins to enclose around Psyche. A scream can be heard as it all slams together, crushing her fragile body between the fragments of pillar. Yuji lets out a pant and as he stops the spell the rubble falls to the ground, Psyche’s lifeless body collapsing atop it. The crowd begin to cheer Yuji’s name as he drops to his knees in exhaustion. YUJI WINS NEXT

  36. Knowing his strength lies in his physical power Yuji dashes forwards towards Psyche, slamming his axe down. She narrowly avoids the blow, jumping backwards as a showering of dust and grit blasts up from Yuji’s powerful blow. He tugs his axe from the ground just in time to block Psyche’s counter attack and pushes her backwards once again, her foot catching on a broken pillar which trips her to the floor. Fear shines in her eyes as she attempts futilely to block Yuji’s next blow which slices through her chest, killing her. The crowd goes wild as he steps back in victory. YUJI WINS NEXT

  37. Yuji decides the take the chance and brings his axe up in an aim to finish the fight quickly. He nearly drops it though as another barrage of flames scorch his body, causing him to stagger backwards, giving Psyche the chance she needs to regain her weapon from the pile of rubble nearby. He attempts to crush her with the rubble but she’s too quick and is dashing towards him now, rapier gripped with the intent to kill. His axe deflects the first blow but his scorched muscles weaken him and as he tries to strike back she ducks, slashing up towards his chest. The girl goes flying across the ground as his defensive force field protects his life at the cost of most his energy. He watches the girl raise to her feet but he’s already on the offensive, slamming his energy into each attack, striking again and again until she suddenly teleports, just as he was about to kill her. Glancing behind him he notices Psyche standing the other side of the arena, looking just as worn out and bloodied as he did. He could either focus his remaining energy on closing the distance or laying a trap for her. Close the distance and attempt to finish her? Plant a trap for Psyche?

  38. Yuji knew that he’d have to expend most of his energy on closing the distance so decides to focus that energy on entrapping Psyche when she approached him. Combining his most powerful elements together he began to soften the ground around him, creating a subtle swamp-like area. It worked a charm as Psyche’s movements become slow, the boggy mud sticking to her feet. Quickly Yuji solidifies the mud and closes the distance to her slowly, smashing the rapier out of her hand with the flat of his axe. He looks upon his immobile opponent for a split second before hacking through her chest, ending her life. The crowd go wild for this victory and cheer Yuji’s name loudly. YUJI WINS NEXT

  39. Yuji knew he was much more powerful than Psyche but let his arms relax slightly before stepping back, watching as Psyche loses her balance and collapses forwards. His plan had worked as he crushes her hand beneath her foot and holds his axe above her. He slams his axe down, aiming first for her arm and the blood sprays across the ground as he slices her arm open. A piercing scream comes from Psyche as Yuji goes to finish the job and slices towards her back but before the blow can connect she vanishes, surprising Yuji. He turns around to try and locate her and can’t find her. The rubble becomes a good hiding place for the weak. He could either explore the piles of rubble on his left first or focus on the ones on his right. Head towards the leftmost piles of rubble? Head towards the rightmost piles of rubble?

  40. Taking his chances, Yuji heads towards the pile of rubble on the left. His eyes scan over the possible hiding places and for any trail of blood he could find. There was none to be found and he regretted his choice as he felt the stinging slash of wind on his back. He staggers around and looks at Psyche who is already approaching him, using her badly injured arm to slash towards his chest. The shock of the blow surprised Yuji and he was about be killed when his force field activates and sends Psyche crashing back into the rubble. He pants heavily as he watches her lay there disorientated and quickly has to decide his next move. He could either use his magic to use the rubble around her or set a trap for when she has regained her senses. Use the rubble as a weapon against Psyche? Set a trap for Psyche?

  41. Taking his chances Yuji set towards the piles of rubble on his right. As he approaches the piles he notices the trail of blood leading behind one of the collapsed pillars. He smirks as he realizes he’d found her. With a quick motion he thrusts the broken pillar away, smashing it into Psyche’s crouched form. She quickly raises to her feet and sends a spiral of fire towards Yuji who quickly negates it with a torrent of water. In the aftermath steam he finds himself victim to an onslaught of strikes and just as one is about to pierce his chest the force field that defends his life once per fight activates and sends Psyche skidding back. It seemed she’d been awaiting that though as she darts forwards, ignoring the pain as Yuji’s axe slices deeply into her shoulder and buries her blade up into Yuji’s ribs, slicing through his heart. The crowd gasps in surprise but cheer as Yuji’s body slumps to the ground. PSYCHE WINS NEXT

  42. The fireball was gaining size quickly and Yuji wasn’t going to risk that strike. As it flies towards him upon completion he quickly erects a barrier of water which creates a barrier of steam as the fire extinguishes the water but doesn’t cause any harm. The steam though was a problem, he couldn’t see his opponent. He raises his axe defensively and is pleased to do so when the next sight he sees is Psyche’s rapier clashed against his axe. He pushes her back and then charges forwards towards her. She crouches into a downwards stance at this sight. Should Yuji aim for a horizontal strike or a vertical one? Aim for a horizontal blow? Aim for a vertical blow?

  43. As he approaches Psyche, Yuji swings his weapon around in an arc, smashing against Psyche’s weapon and sending the younger girl off balance. His axe pulls back and slams into her gut, knocking the girl to the floor. He stands above her and slams down quickly but her agile body allows her to roll out of the way and leap back to her feet, launching into her own barrage of attacks. Some catch at Yuji’s arms but nothing too fatal. His axe clashes against her rapier once more and they match off in a power of strength. He could easily overpower her or feign and open up a possible counter attack. Use his strength to overpower her? Feign an opening then strike?

  44. Yuji’s arms raise high with the idea of a vertical strike but he’s too slow, Psyche has already pounced out of the way of danger and had sliced into his gut in the motion. He grumbles as he staggers back, now at the wrath of Psyche’s furious onslaught. He manages to push her back a few times but she’s still charging towards him, aiming to kill. He stands his ground though and quickly sends another tremor to her, tripping her once again. He slams his axe down towards her body, slicing across her back once and as he goes to finish her she instantly vanishes, but where to? He doesn’t know where to look but wonders whether to focus on hearing or sight to locate her. Focus on locating her through hearing? Focus on locating her through sight?

  45. Psyche’s first blow strikes against the cold metal of his axe as he blocks the blow before launching one of his own. It barely misses her upper arm as she ducks beneath it, aiming for another slash towards his torso. Once again the axe blocks her from doing any damage and Yuji pushes back against Psyche who nimbly leaps back. Her eyes blaze with the joy of battle and she’s quick to dash towards him again. He could either try and outmanoeuvre her or meet her blows head on. Meet her attacks head on? Attempt to outmanoeuvre her?

  46. Yuji swiftly sidesteps but his agility is nothing compared to Psyche’s and she’s quick to reign down a few more nimble strikes against him, slicing ferociously against him. His balance staggers and he trips to the ground, looking up at Psyche above him, barely bringing his axe up defensively in time to block her blade piercing his chest. Using his might he pushes her away so he could regain his balance. He watches as her tactics change; turning to a magical offensive instead of a physical one. A fireball begins to ignite in her hand but how should he react? Douse them before they can cause trouble and strike at her or act defensively instead? Use his own magic offensively to stop her? Stay where he is and act defensively?

  47. Deciding not to risk Psyche landing anymore attacks against him, Yuji quickly summons water to assist him. A quick whip of water lashes out towards the fireball, dousing it and stopping Psyche’s plans. He quickly follows up with a slash towards her, catching her arm as she leaps back defensively. He smirks as he dashes forwards once more, smashing his axe against her rapier, looking down at her thin frame planning his next actions. He could simply overpower her or feign back, letting her think she was winning and then strike. Use his strength to overpower her? Feign an opening then strike?

  48. The repeated clash of metal on metal could be heard as Psyche and Yuji exchange blows, neither one coming out on top. Yuji’s brute force tactic seems to be tiring Psyche out and he quickly begins to overwhelm her, pushing her back with each blow. He was now on the offensive and doesn’t let up. One blow smashes the rapier straight out of Psyche’s hands, sending it skittering off in the distance. At this sudden turn of events Psyche seems to face defeat as she collapses to her knees and looks at the ground. Yuji knew he was near victory but could this be a trap? He could either strike her down now or back away, finishing her from a distance. Step back and finish her from a distance? Strike her whilst she’s defenceless?

  49. Thank you for testing.
