  6. 2007-08 Priority Outcome 1 Student-learning outcome BA students will use the journal to record the conceptual progression and development of imagery, to include the analysis and synthesis of accumulated information Evidence that action is being implemented • Action item: Create a “blueprint” to make journal components consistent throughout studio courses • An Academic Journal “blueprint” prototype was formulated for use in studio courses to systematize an approach for documenting all or selected components of the creative process Program Actions Since Last Assessment Presentation: Evidence That Action Is Being Implemented

  7. 2007-08 Priority Outcome 2 Student-learning outcome • BA students will identify and analyze the elements and principles of design within compositions of various styles Evidence that actions are being implemented • Action item: Expand emphasis on form analysis and use of design vocabulary when analyzing works of art in advanced studio courses during critique sessions • Students are now required to complete analyses of their own artwork as well as others, with particular emphasis on addressing the use of the elements and principles of design Program Actions Since Last Assessment Presentation: Evidence That Action Is Being Implemented

  8. 2007-08 Priority Outcome 3 Student-learning outcome BA students will demonstrate ability to evaluate and interpret works of art through the process of formal analysis Evidence that actions are being implemented • Action item: Expand emphasis on form analysis through writing in advanced studio courses • Students are required to complete a written formal analysis of a specific artwork, addressing the use of the elements and principles of design and subsequent interpretation • Action item: Develop a formal analysis rubric to ensure consistency of evaluation • A formal analysis rubric for measuring the essay was developed to increase reliability and validity of the results Program Actions Since Last Assessment Presentation: Evidence That Action Is Being Implemented
