CENTER FOR APPLIED RESEARCH IN FINANCE • Established in March 2014 • In collaboration between Borsa İstanbul and Boğaziçi University • Mission • Theoretical & empirical research on • quantitative finance • financial innovation and technologies • asset pricing • portfolio management • market microstructure • investor behavior 4

CENTER FOR APPLIED RESEARCH IN FINANCE Aiming at • Contributing to the decision process of actors in Turkish financial sector • Providing solutions for policy makers & regulators to the current economic issues. • Supporting the IFC: making İstanbul an academic and professional hub in financial innovation • Developing new products • Improving the cooperation between academia, investment banks, funds, investors and domestic & foreign regulatory authorities • Advisory and training • Contributing to the academic careerS of B.S., M.S and Ph.D. Students (both academic and practical) • Publishing articles in high-level international journals 5

CENTER FOR APPLIED RESEARCH IN FINANCE Subject of activity • Interdisciplinary studies combining different fields such as finance, economics, mathematics, engineering • Developing financial products and technologies • Collaborations with national/international institutions • Publishing and translation activities • Organizing scientific meetings, conferences, workshops etc. • Providing advisory services to related parties 6

SOFTWARE COMPANY Long Term Perspective • Borsa Istanbul and Istanbul Technical University have been planning to establish a software company • It will be located at ITU ARI Teknokent • The aim of the project is to synthetize the experience of Borsa Istanbul with the academic knowledge of ITU in order to contribute financial sector 7

  10. FİNANS TEKNOPARK A.Ş.AIM OF THE PROJECT • to establish a thematic (finance-oriented) technopark in İstanbul • to host companies which develop products and software in financial IT field Structure of technopark 8

FİNANS TEKNOPARK A.Ş.DIFFERENCES OF FİNANS TEKNOPARK • The unique technopark in Turkey with finance-oriented structure • Project will reveal the fact that progress in technology can be sustained by cooperation between a stock exchange and a university • It is aimed to allocate at least ten percent (legally five percent) of rental areas for incubation center 9
