  4. Definition A claim is an Opinion or statement. Evidence is a specific example, experience, observation, or specific facts, details Example One reason I like writing is because I can get what confuses me on paper. Last year, when my best friend, Carla, moved to Canada, I was happy for her, but sad for myself. So, I wrote a poem about the last afternoon we spent together.

  5. Definition Once, when my best friends was in a terrible fight with her parents, I spent 2 hours with her, listening as she poured out all her frustrations. What makes me a really good friend is the fact that I can really listen

  6. Example I am the tallest in my family. Although I am only 5 feet and 8 inches, my mom is only 5 feet and my father is only 5 feet and 7 inches.

  7. Including Evidence Not sure if you have a claim or evidence? Try introducing the evidence with for example or for instance. If the sentence doesn’t work, you probably don’t have evidence.
