  3. Gilbert • Gilbert is a possum. • She made him a possum because they are timid. • She liked the name Gilbert because she didn’t know any students with that name.

  4. Diane deGroat • It takes her months to come up with ideas for the Gilbert stories. • It only takes about a week for her to write it down. • She likes illustrating the stories better than writing them!

  5. Diane deGroat • Ms. deGroat has a daughter named Amanda. Her daughter animates the show “Little Einsteins”. • Her daughter’s husband animates for Cartoon Network!
