A recent study led by Urashima at Jikei University School of Medicine in Tokyo revealed that Vitamin D3 supplementation can significantly reduce the incidence of influenza and asthma attacks in school children aged 6 to 15. Conducted between December 2008 and March 2009, the randomized, double-blind trial involved 334 children receiving either 1200 IU of Vitamin D3 or a placebo. Results showed that only 10.8% of those taking Vitamin D caught influenza compared to 18.6% on placebo. Additionally, asthma attacks were notably reduced in the Vitamin D group.
