  2. Clipping Schedule Pigs: • Sign up is on the windows of the office

  3. Clipping Schedule Cattle: • Go see Masvero and Ferguson for dates and times

  4. Clipping Schedule Chickens, Turkeys, Rabbits: • Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 for poultry • Bring rabbits up to school if you want them picked • See Masvero and Hainline for dates and times

  5. Clipping Schedule Lambs: • Sign up is on the window of the office

  7. Clipping Schedule • Your animal needs to be washed before it is clipped • Lambs and Goats make sure they are washed and dried the night before…GOOD! Use Dawn Dish Soap • Pigs need to be washed the day of clipping

  8. Tuesday, February 15 • Show Barn set-up @ 6:00 pm • Mandatory or 10% out of show check

  9. Thursday, February 17 • 12:30-5:00 pm – check in all projects • no parent trailers before 12:30pm • 5:00 pm – weigh in pigs, lambs, goats, steers • 5:00 pm – Breeding/Fryer Rabbit Show • 6:30 pm – Horticulture/Vegetable Show • 8:00 pm – Poultry Show

  10. Friday, February 18 • 8:00 am – Heifer Show • Following – Steer Show • Following – Lamb Show • 10:00 am – Ag Mech Judging • 10:00 am – Floral Design Competition • Following Lamb Show – Goat Show • Following – Swine Show • 6:00 pm – Mandatory Auction Meeting

  11. Saturday, February 19 • 8:00-11:00 am – Tent Sale (closes during auction) • 9:30 am – Trophy and Buckle Presentation • 11:00 am – Auction and Buyers Luncheon • After Auction – Tent Sale Reopens

  12. Sunday, February 20 • 9:00 am – Load out of animals No students allowed! • 1:00 pm – Mandatory Clean-Up for ALL MEMBERS IN SHOW • Must be present or 10% off show check

  13. What to Bring • Halter for your animal • Food every morning and evening (don’t leave up there) • Buckets for water and feed • Official Dress for show times • Show chains, halters and pig whip • Everything you need to wash your animal (soap, towels, hoses)

  14. Check-In Process Thursday • You need to be at the Show Barn right after school to tend to your animal • Make sure you find Masvero, Prince, Ferguson or Hainline for feeding directions before weigh in • If you are hauling your own animal, make sure it is there by 5:00 pm

  15. Check-In Process Thursday • When you bring in poultry or rabbits, you will check in under the left barn (concrete barn) • All large animals will start checking in by 5:00 pm, listen for announcements for when to bring animals

  16. Show Day Friday • You need to be there by 7:30 am whether you are showing early or not to check in with Prince – limited parking…CAR POOL • otherwise you are counted truant • You may not leave the show facility until 2:30 pm • otherwise you are counted truant • You should stay and watch everyone show, they watched you

  17. Exhibitors must have their animals properly groomed to be able to show • Exhibitors are required to keep their space clean and provide feed and water buckets

  18. All exhibitors will be required to wear Official Dress while exhibiting their project: • White collard shirt, black pants, black belt, blue scarf or tie, black shoes/boots, and your Official FFA jacket • Failure to comply with official dress will result in being ineligible to exhibit your project

  19. Auction Day Saturday • If you make auction you must be at a MANDATORY MEETING at 6:00 pm Friday Night • If you are not there it is 10% out of show check • We need lots of help during the auction, if you would like to help, wear Official Dress

  20. Tent Sale Saturday • If you got a sponsor that is not “legit” now is your chance to find one • There will be buyers walking around looking for animals to buy • Wear Official Dress and look presentable to sell your animal • No “For Sale” signs allowed in the barn

  21. Saturday Cleaning • This will be the last time you will see your animal • Make sure you feed your animal Saturday night • Take all your belongings with you Saturday night or it will be thrown away Sunday at clean-up

  22. Clean-Up Sunday • MANDATORY – EVERYONE MUST BE THERE • You must be at clean up by 1:00 pm or you get 10% out of show check • Even if you are 1 minute late, 10% out of show check • Plan on being there at least until 3:00 pm

  23. All obligations to the buyer and the Ag Science departments must be fulfilled before the student receives money • Show Commission: • Auction 7% • Tent Sale 7%

  24. All exhibitors will be required to write thank you letters to buyers and award sponsors • The thank you letter deadline is March 11, 2011 to Masvero • Failure to turn in letters will result in the following penalties: • 10% deduction from your show check is applied every week you do not turn the letters in • The student’s money will be held until the letters are received • Any money you owe Klein Oak FFA will be taken out of your show check

  25. Wednesday, February 23 • MANDATORY Farm Workday 2:30-5:00 pm for everyone who had animals on the farm • If you are not present at this clean up you will receive 10% out of your show check • Must take all tack and material off the farm and have the pen cleaned according to Masvero, Prince, Ferguson and Hainline

  26. Wednesday, March 2 • Everything needs to be OFF the farm by 2:30 pm • Pens need to be cleaned according to Masvero, Prince, Ferguson and Hainline guidelines • 10% out of show check for every week not cleaned

  27. MOST IMPORTANTLYRemember you are representing the Klein Oak FFA Chapter!!
