Graduate students who wish to continue their study are offered an optional Master of Science (MS) degree track. This program enables graduates to further their academic and clinical interests in implant dentistry by completing a master’s level research project, writing a thesis, and submitting it for review by the Faculty of Graduate Studies. To qualify for this program, candidates must be admitted to the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry and must complete all didactic and clinical requirements. This includes completion of a research project, which is submitted to the Loma Linda faculty for approval prior to graduation and public defense of the thesis. This program is the first and only university-based advanced education program in implant dentistry. Since its inception, the program has evolved to meet the ever-changing needs of implant practitioners. The AAIP-approved curriculum is a comprehensive, hands-on training program that has been developed to provide participants with the most advanced information on surgical and prosthetic treatment planning and techniques for placing and restoring dental implants. The curriculum consists of a series of lecture-based sessions with interactive, procedure-based learning that utilizes individual case presentations to highlight important implant treatment principles and techniques.
